Iran Attacks U.S. Bases in Qatar

Iran attempted a retaliatory strike against the United States on Monday, launching at least six missiles at American military outposts in Qatar, just one day after President Donald J. Trump authorized precision strikes that crippled three of Tehran’s nuclear weapons facilities.

Reports confirm explosions were heard over the Qatari capital of Doha, according to AFP and Reuters, though there was no immediate word on U.S. casualties—a sign that the regime’s attack likely failed to achieve its intended impact.

An Israeli official confirmed the launch, calling it the most significant direct Iranian strike on U.S. positions since the 2020 missile barrage that followed the death of terrorist mastermind Qasem Soleimani.

The U.S. Embassy in Qatar immediately issued a “shelter in place” advisory for Americans on the ground, warning of potential follow-up attacks. The order came just hours after Fox News reported intelligence suggesting that Iran might target U.S. installations in Qatar within the next 48 hours.

The White House remains on high alert but calm, as senior officials reiterated that President Trump’s actions were measured, lawful, and necessary to protect America and its allies from a regime actively pursuing nuclear weapons while chanting “Death to America” and funding global terrorism.

Despite Democrat pushback, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) publicly backed the Commander-in-Chief, defending Trump’s right to act under existing national security authorities.

“The President made the right call,” Johnson posted on X. “Leaders in Congress were aware of the urgency… The world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism… simply could not be allowed the opportunity to obtain and use nuclear weapons.”

He emphasized that the limited, targeted strike was consistent with precedent and took place with appropriate awareness among congressional leaders.

Support was swift and vocal from Senate leadership as well. Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) praised Trump’s refusal to tolerate further Iranian threats.

“The regime in Iran… has rejected all diplomatic pathways to peace. The mullahs’ misguided pursuit of nuclear weapons must be stopped. I stand with President Trump and pray for the American troops and personnel in harm’s way.”

Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wy.), the Senate GOP Whip, added:

“President @realDonaldTrump’s decision to strike Iran’s nuclear program is the right one. The greatest threat to the safety of the United States and the world is Iran with a nuclear weapon. God bless our troops.”

And Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), an Army veteran and longtime Iran hawk, echoed the urgency:

“Iran has waged a war of terror against the United States for 46 years. We could never allow Iran to get nuclear weapons… The ayatollahs should recall [Trump’s] warning not to target Americans.”

Despite Iran’s provocative launch, U.S. officials stress that the United States is not at war with Iran, and that Trump’s order was a strategic and proportional response to a clear and present danger—namely, the regime’s imminent nuclear capability.

While the world watches nervously, one thing is now clear: President Trump won’t blink. Iran gambled with a missile barrage. So far, all it’s proven is that America’s military dominance remains unshaken—and the ayatollahs are running out of moves.
