The email disclosures follow Joe Biden's 2011 speech discussing a "rising China" during the U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue at the U.S. Department of Interior.

During his address, Biden hailed China's ascent as "a positive, positive development, not only for China but for America," highlighting Owens' role as an Obama administration Treasury Department employee and emphasizing her dedication to improving U.S.-China relations.

Owens, described by the then-vice president as someone who "graduated from Harvard not too long ago" and studied Chinese, played a pivotal role in assisting her cousin Hunter Biden during this period.

While serving under Obama, Owens held a position at the Treasury Department specializing in the U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue. She corresponded with Hunter Biden and his business partner regarding potential dealings with China Investment Corporation, the largest sovereign wealth fund linked to the Chinese Communist Party.

In one email dated April 12, 2010, Owens informed Hunter Biden and Eric Schwerin about a recent CIC investment conference in Sanya, Hainan Island.

Owens' father, John “Jack” Owens, also sought assistance from Hunter Biden in swiftly obtaining a business license for his telemedicine company to operate in China. Despite Hunter Biden's attempts to expedite the process through his connections, the request faced challenges due to regulatory complexities in China.

The Biden family's ties to China extended beyond Casey Owens, with Hunter Biden leveraging his father's influence during business interactions, as reported by Fox Business.
