Supreme Court Gives Trump HUGE Election Win!

In a significant decision on Monday, the Supreme Court ruled that states cannot prevent former President Donald Trump from running for office based on his actions before the January 6 Capitol attack, marking a major victory for him. This swift decision has immediate implications for the upcoming 2024 election.

In a unanimous decision without dissent, the court overturned the Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling, which had determined that Trump could not run for president again under section 3 of the 14th Amendment.

The Supreme Court clarified that it is Congress, not individual states, that has the authority to determine disqualification criteria under the 14th Amendment. This ruling applies not only to Colorado but to all states.

The court stated, “Because the Constitution assigns to Congress the responsibility of enforcing section 3 against federal officeholders and candidates, we reverse.”

Just one day before the Colorado primary, this decision has been made, securing Trump’s place on the ballot.

Trump expressed his joy immediately after the verdict, declaring, “Big win for America!!!” on his social media platform.

This ruling not only ensures Trump’s candidacy in Colorado but also prevents similar challenges in other states. Only Maine and Illinois have adopted similar policies, both of which were halted like Colorado’s ruling.

Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold confirmed that states cannot enforce Section 3 of the 14th Amendment on federal office candidates, making Trump a viable contender in Colorado’s 2024 presidential primary.

The court’s decision warned against the potential chaos of inconsistent rulings across states, which could disrupt elections if states were allowed to independently decide who could be on the presidential ballot.

The liberal justices, although in the minority, expressed reservations about the court’s decision on how Congress should enforce section 3 in a jointly written concurring opinion. Conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett also acknowledged that the court addressed more than was strictly necessary.

The ruling, according to the liberal justices, shields Trump from future controversies and controversy.
