Trump Releases MAJOR Statement About His Next Term - Biden Can't Stop This!
Former President Donald Trump distanced himself significantly from a controversial set of proposed policy objectives for his potential next term, known as “Project 2025.” This initiative is linked to the conservative Heritage Foundation and other right-wing groups.
On his Truth Social platform, Trump stated, “I know nothing about Project 2025. I have no idea who is behind it. I disagree with some of the things they’re saying and some of the things they’re saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal.” He added, “Anything they do, I wish them luck, but I have nothing to do with them.”
A partner organization working with Project 2025 is currently researching federal employees, according to Just the News, which reported that they are creating a list of individuals who might oppose Trump’s agenda if he wins the presidency again.
At the same time, there is new speculation about Trump's potential running mate ahead of a rally in Florida.
Newsweek reports that Trump announced he would travel to Doral on July 9, a city near Sen. Marco Rubio’s hometown of Miami. Rubio, the ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee and Trump’s 2016 GOP presidential rival, has long been considered a top contender for the vice-presidential spot.
The rally at Trump National Doral Golf Club is scheduled just under a week before the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, where Trump is expected to be confirmed as the GOP’s presidential nominee for 2024. CNN noted that Trump's team has played down the possibility of him announcing his running mate at the July 9 rally.
Brian Hughes, Trump’s spokesperson, told CNN: “As President Trump has said himself, the top criteria in selecting a Vice President is a strong leader who will make a great President for eight years after his next four-year term concludes. But anyone telling you they know who or when President Trump will choose his VP is lying unless that person is named Donald J. Trump.”
However, some political commentators have speculated about the location of the rally.
James Oliphant, a national political correspondent for Reuters, wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Trump will hold a rally in Doral, FLA on July 9 in basically Marco Rubio’s backyard. Does that mean Rubio is the VP pick? It seems to me that it’s never that straightforward.”
Red Eagle Politics, a pro-Trump political YouTuber, added on X: “The Trump VP announcement is rumored to be in Miami. Could it mean that he’s picking Rubio? Maybe, but that’s far from definitive.”
Other names reportedly on Trump’s shortlist for vice president include North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, Ohio Senator J.D. Vance, Sen. Tim Scott, and Florida Representative Byron Donalds.
As the search for Trump’s VP continues, the news is not favorable for President Joe Biden following his recent debate with Trump.
Leaked internal Democratic polling, reported by a D.C.-focused news organization, indicated bad news for President Joe Biden after his debate against Trump a week ago.
According to Puck News, Biden is losing more ground to Trump in battleground states, and even reliably blue states that have traditionally voted Democrat are now in play, as shown by the polling.
OpenLabs, a nonprofit that “conducts polling and message-testing for a constellation of Democratic groups,” including those linked to Future Forward, Biden’s preferred Super PAC, provided the data. Veteran political journalist and former CNN correspondent Peter Hamby noted that the data showed 40 percent of voters who supported Biden in 2020 now believe he should exit the race. An OpenLabs poll in May had that figure at 25 percent.
“This is, of course, only a single poll, conducted during the initial aftershocks of the debate. It will take a few weeks to determine if Biden’s slippage in the polls is a trend and not a blip,” Hamby wrote. “But given their reputation inside the party and connections to Future Forward, OpenLabs is a firm that Democratic campaigns take seriously.”
