Barack Obama Goes On LIVE TV And Begs For A Disgusting Favor
Former President Barack Obama has resurfaced on the political stage with a new mission: urging Californians to approve Governor Gavin Newsom’s latest plan to lock in Democratic power under the guise of “redistricting reform.” Obama released a campaign-style video encouraging voters to support Proposition 50, a sweeping ballot initiative critics say is nothing more than a gerrymandering blueprint designed to permanently weaken Republican representation in the state.
California’s Democratic leadership is scrambling after Republican-led states began correcting what officials have described as a “census error” — one that undercounted conservative states and shifted congressional representation to deep-blue strongholds. With states like Texas already moving forward on mid-decade redistricting, Newsom responded by launching his own aggressive map overhaul.
Under the new configuration, Republicans would control just four of California’s 52 congressional seats — despite the fact that roughly 40% of voters backed GOP candidates in the 2024 elections. In effect, millions of conservative Californians would be reduced to symbolic representation in Washington.
By contrast, Texas’ newly proposed maps — which Democrats have loudly criticized — still allow Democrats to hold roughly one-fifth of congressional seats, even though they earned about 42% of the vote. In other words, even the Republican-led redistricting states are operating with more proportional fairness than Newsom’s plan.
To execute the overhaul, Newsom must amend the state constitution — requiring a special election and a statewide vote. Early voting began last week, and Obama immediately jumped in to rally the left.
“California, the whole nation is counting on you. Democracy is on the ballot November 4th,” Obama said in his video message.
“Republicans want to steal enough seats in Congress to rig the next election and wield unchecked power for two more years. Prop 50, you can stop Republicans in their tracks,” he continued, arguing — with no trace of irony — that the measure would “preserve independent redistricting.”
The ad was funded by “Yes on 50, The Election Rigging Response Act and Governor Newsom’s Ballot Measure Committee.” Major donors include “HMP for Prop 50,” “Fund for Policy Reform,” and the California Teachers Association — a roster of Democratic power brokers that has poured millions into state ballot fights for decades.
The stakes are national. Democrats view Prop 50 as their best chance to offset upcoming Republican gains in states now adjusting their maps to reflect accurate population numbers and voter distribution. Out-of-state money, political consultancies, and left-wing advocacy groups have flooded the state to ensure the measure passes.
Meanwhile, states such as Missouri, Ohio, Florida, Indiana, South Carolina, Kansas, and North Carolina are advancing redistricting reforms of their own — many of which simply restore balance after years of Democratic-favored map manipulation.
The political lines could not be more sharply drawn: Democrats are attempting to secure one-party dominance while branding their opponents as election “riggers,” and Republicans are moving to correct the structural bias built into the last redistricting cycle.
And at the center of the push to lock California into a permanent political monopoly: Barack Obama and Gavin Newsom — two figures who have long insisted they are merely defending “democracy.”
