Bill Maher Reveals Why 2028 Is A No-Go For Kamala Harris

Liberal comedian Bill Maher delivered a blistering takedown of former Vice President Kamala Harris during his HBO monologue Friday night, mocking her newly released memoir and declaring she has “zero chance” of ever becoming the Democratic Party’s 2028 presidential nominee.

Harris is currently on tour promoting 107 Days, a book recounting her disastrous 2024 presidential campaign. The memoir attempts to explain away her stunning defeat — despite massive financial backing and institutional advantages — but even some on the Left aren’t buying it.

Harris entered the race with more than $1.5 billion in campaign funds, a loyal Democratic voter base, and near-universal media support. Yet she still managed to lose every major swing state and even failed to secure the national popular vote — a humiliating first for a Democratic nominee in over two decades.

In her book, Harris claims California Gov. Gavin Newsom ignored her request for an endorsement, reportedly brushing her off with a text that simply read, “hiking,” before never following up. She also reflects on her vice-presidential search, writing that while she believed former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg could have energized the ticket, America “was not ready” for a gay running mate. Instead, she settled on Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, whom she describes with mixed feelings.

Maher tore into Harris’s narrative, accusing her of deflecting blame:

“Kamala Harris’s new memoir of the 2024 election is called 107 Days. But it should have been called Everyone Sucks But Me.

107 Days is a victim’s title because get it, she only had 107 days to win. Yeah, and a billion and a half dollars and a built-in army of about 75 million people who’d vote for any human-adjacent life form that wasn’t Trump.

But in 107 Days, nothing is ever Kamala’s fault. Biden lets her down by not stepping down sooner. (Pouty face emoji).

Gavin Newsom, he was asked for his endorsement, but texted ‘Hiking. Will call back.’ But then never did. And then he didn’t even ask her to prom.

America itself lets Kamala down by not being ‘ready’ for the running mate she really wanted, Pete Buttigieg. So she stuck with the Home Depot paint salesman [Tim Walz], and the rest is HERstory. Poor Kamala. We made her the star of a rom-com and didn’t even give her a gay best friend.

Kamala writes that on election night, when it was clear she lost, an aide peeled the words ‘Madam President’ off the cupcakes before handing them out. Oh, geez, that’s like a scene from Bridget Jones Runs for President, for Christ’s sake.”

Harris also uses the book to swipe at Joe Biden, writing that it was “reckless” for him to run again in 2024. Yet, during the campaign, she publicly maintained that Biden was fit to serve another term.

Despite ongoing speculation about her political future, Harris insists she isn’t eyeing 2028. In a Sept. 22 interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, she said:

“That’s not my focus right now. That’s not my focus at all. It really isn’t.”

Her denial followed an earlier decision in July not to run for California governor, declaring instead that she would work to elect other Democrats “who will fight fearlessly” around the country.

Still, with dismal approval ratings, a failed presidential bid, and even left-leaning comedians ridiculing her, Harris faces a political career that appears to be in freefall.
