Bizarre New Karmelo Anthony Video Sparks Mass Outrage: 'Total Loser'

Anthony, who stands accused of fatally stabbing fellow high school student Austin Metcalf during a track meet in Texas on April 2, has quickly become a divisive figure.

Prosecutors and critics alike believe the facts are fairly straightforward. They’re raising questions such as why Anthony had a knife at a school sporting event in the first place. Even if there was a confrontation — with Metcalf allegedly pushing Anthony for being in the wrong school’s tent — many argue it should’ve ended with “a fist fight,” not a fatal stabbing.

Meanwhile, Anthony’s defenders — reportedly with significant financial backing — are framing the incident as a matter of “self-defense.” Some have also begun highlighting the racial dynamics at play, given that Anthony is black and Metcalf was white.

Those clashing narratives escalated further on Wednesday, when the activist group supporting Anthony, the Next Generation Action Network (NGAN), shared an unusual video on Instagram. The footage, apparently captured using a security guard’s smart glasses, shows Anthony being escorted out of jail after posting a $250,000 bond.

The clip, which clearly portrays Anthony in a sympathetic light, quickly drew criticism online.

One of the most vocal critics, Collin Rugg, co-owner of Trending Politics, pointed out on X (formerly Twitter) that members of NGAN’s security detail appeared to enjoy intimidating a female reporter — behavior he and others found deeply inappropriate.

Although Anthony is “innocent until proven guilty,” many social media users expressed discomfort over what they saw as glamorizing a person currently accused of murder — especially with court proceedings still pending.

“[I]magine being proud of interacting with a savage murderer,” one commenter wrote under Rugg’s post.

Rugg fired back: “This clown’s [Instagram] account is him just fawning over Karmelo. Total loser.”

The “clown” in question is Dominique Alexander, a controversial activist and self-described “minister” who has previously faced serious criminal charges, including abuse against a young child.

The backlash didn’t stop there. Other commenters vented frustration about how Anthony’s family seems to be embracing newfound attention and possibly wealth.

“This is sickening, he is not a hero,” wrote one user.

“Disgusting,” added another. “But predictable.”

“This is turning into George Floyd 2.0,” another user warned.

These reactions follow recent reports that Anthony’s family may have relocated to an upscale neighborhood — potentially using funds raised for his legal expenses — which has sparked further criticism among locals.
