BREAKING: Bombshell Sex Allegation Hits Platner - Entered Woman's Home Uninvited, 'Forced Himself on Her'
Democratic Maine Senate nominee Graham Platner is facing a serious new allegation after a woman who once dated him told Politico that he sexually assaulted her five years ago.
The report landed Monday amid growing speculation that Platner’s campaign could be facing another major scandal, with rumors circulating that he might even drop out of the race.
Politico reporters Jessica Piper and Adam Wren published the allegation after interviewing Jenny Racicot, a 41-year-old Maine resident, who said Platner forced her to have sex with him in November 2021. Platner’s campaign has denied the accusation.
Piper and Wren wrote:
The woman, a 41-year-old Maine resident named Jenny Racicot, detailed the alleged incident to POLITICO in three interviews over the past two weeks.
POLITICO also spoke with a man Racicot dated and confided in the years after the alleged incident, and reviewed documents, including emails between Racicot and her therapist and messages between Racicot and an acquaintance whom she warned against getting involved with Platner years before he ran for office.
According to Politico, Racicot said an “intoxicated” Platner came to her home and “forced himself on her while she repeatedly told him to stop. She said she cut off contact with him after telling him the encounter was not consensual.”
“I remember him grabbing my pelvis and being really forceful of me,” she said. “I remember the specific moment where I thought to myself, like, ‘This is no longer my choice.’”
Platner’s campaign responded by denying the allegation and framing the report as part of a broader effort by political opponents to derail his candidacy.
These allegations are very serious and Graham vigorously denies them. They are also coached and coordinated by out of state establishment operatives. For a year, opponents of this campaign have thrown everything they can at Graham –– calling him a Nazi, a war criminal, and a communist. None of it has been true and this is no different. It is not a coincidence that this story comes a week before the ballot deadline, just as the previous false allegations came a week before the primary. Graham began this campaign to fight for a Maine where everyone is treated with dignity and where Mainers are put first, and no amount of desperate smears will stop this movement from seeing that vision through.
The accusation adds to the political pressure surrounding Platner’s campaign at a critical moment. According to multiple reports, his campaign canceled two events that had been scheduled for Monday night.
For Maine voters, the allegation presents another test of how Democratic leaders handle serious misconduct claims when they involve one of their own candidates. The left has spent years insisting that character, accountability, and public trust are non-negotiable standards in politics. Now, with a Senate race on the line, those principles will be tested in real time.
Platner is entitled to due process, and allegations must be examined carefully. But voters are also entitled to transparency from candidates who seek power in Washington. Serious claims involving personal conduct cannot simply be waved away as political inconvenience, especially by a party that frequently lectures the country about moral leadership.
As the ballot deadline approaches, Platner’s campaign now faces not only a political crisis but a credibility crisis. The question is whether Democratic officials will demand answers or retreat behind the usual partisan shield.
