Breaking: FBI Releases Images of ‘Armed Individual’ at Nancy Guthrie’s Home on Night of Disappearance
The FBI on Tuesday released newly recovered images depicting what authorities describe as an “armed individual” at the Arizona residence of Nancy Guthrie in the early hours of the morning she vanished.
The images and accompanying video were made public by FBI Director Kash Patel in a post on X, shedding new light on a case that has drawn national attention and raised serious concerns about public safety and law enforcement accountability.
According to Patel, federal investigators and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department have spent more than a week working alongside private-sector partners to recover surveillance footage that was initially believed to be lost. The video, Patel explained, originated from cameras that had been removed from Guthrie’s home.
“Working with our partners — as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance,” Patel wrote.

Federal officials are now urging the public to assist in the investigation. The FBI has asked anyone with information related to Guthrie’s disappearance to call 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit tips directly through the bureau’s official website.
The images released by the FBI show a masked individual wearing gloves and a backpack while appearing to interfere with the home’s front-door camera system. NBC News reported that Patel confirmed the individual visible in the footage was carrying a firearm, underscoring the potentially violent nature of the incident.
Despite the disturbing evidence, the FBI stated Monday that it has not yet identified any suspects or named any persons of interest in the case.
Nancy Guthrie, 84, is the mother of “Today” show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie. She was dropped off at her home outside Tucson, Arizona, on the night of January 31 and was reported missing the following day after failing to appear for church services.
The FBI also disclosed that it is “not aware of any continued communication between the Guthrie family and suspected kidnappers,” a revelation that has intensified concern and speculation surrounding the case.
As the investigation continues, the release of these images marks a significant development—one that raises serious questions about public safety, surveillance failures, and the growing brazenness of criminal activity in America.
