Breaking: LA Driver Rams Crowd, Injures Dozens, 7 in Critical Condition - Bystander Then Shot and Killed Him

Los Angeles was rocked by chaos early Saturday morning after a man deliberately drove into a crowd of people outside an East Hollywood nightclub, injuring 30 individuals—seven of them critically—before a bystander reportedly opened fire and shot the driver.

The violent incident occurred around 2 a.m. outside The Vermont, a nightclub in Santa Monica, according to Reuters.

“They were all standing in line going into a nightclub. There was a taco cart out there, so they were … getting some food, waiting to go in. And there’s also a valet line there,” said LAFD Capt. Adam VanGerpen, as reported by KABC-TV in Los Angeles.

“The valet podium was taken out, the taco truck was taken out, and then a large number of people were impacted by the vehicle,” VanGerpen added.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, a total of 30 victims were transported to area hospitals. Seven were reported in critical condition, while six others were described as serious.

After the driver mowed through the crowd, enraged bystanders pulled him from the vehicle. One man reportedly shot the suspect before fleeing the scene with a “silver” revolver.

Authorities have not released the driver’s identity or his current medical condition. Police are treating the case as an intentional act and say the suspect had been removed from a business venue moments before launching the vehicular assault.

NBC News confirmed police believe the crash was not accidental. Of the 30 injured, 18 were women and 12 were men.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass issued a carefully worded statement on X, offering condolences but stopping short of addressing the growing lawlessness plaguing her city.

“This is a heartbreaking tragedy,” Bass wrote. “I want to thank the more than 100 LAFD and LAPD personnel who responded to the scene to help to save lives. The hearts of all Angelenos are with East Hollywood this morning and those impacted — a full investigation will be conducted into what happened.”

Despite repeated promises from city leaders to crack down on crime, Los Angeles continues to spiral under progressive leadership that fails to enforce basic law and order. The streets are becoming increasingly dangerous, and ordinary citizens are being forced to take matters into their own hands.
