Breaking: Attacker of Paul Pelosi Receives Devastating News

David DePape, the assailant who attacked Paul Pelosi, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after being found guilty of assaulting and attempting to kidnap a federal official.

The sentencing, which took place on Friday, came following his conviction for the October 2022 incident, during which he assaulted Pelosi with a hammer at his San Francisco residence.

Pelosi, aged 84 at the time of the attack, sustained a skull fracture and arm injuries.

Despite prosecutors seeking a 40-year sentence, DePape received 30 years according to the BBC. The attack occurred while DePape was in search of Paul's wife, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

In November 2022, the Department of Homeland Security confirmed that DePape had been residing in the United States illegally after overstaying his visa, following allegations from Canada.

DePape, who has pleaded not guilty to a range of state charges, faced further scrutiny when police body camera footage of the incident was made public in January 2023.
