Breaking: Trump Issues Official Pardon to Giuliani, 'All United States Citizens' Involved in 2020 Elector Activities That Biden, Dems Condemned as Illegal

President Donald J. Trump on Sunday granted full pardons to Rudy Giuliani and 76 others connected to his post-2020 election legal efforts — a sweeping act of clemency aimed at correcting what he called a “grave national injustice.”

The announcement, shared by White House clemency czar Ed Martin on X, included notable names such as Sidney Powell, Kenneth Chesebro, and former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. According to the New York Post, most of those pardoned were involved in the organization of alternate elector slates in battleground states — including Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, and Michigan — during the contested 2020 presidential race.

“This proclamation ends a grave national injustice perpetrated upon the American people following the 2020 Presidential Election and continues the process of national reconciliation,”
— President Donald J. Trump, in his official pardon statement.

Martin, who was appointed by Trump as U.S. Pardon Attorney, elaborated on the process in a series of posts on X.

“When I began as U.S. Pardon Attorney, POTUS encouraged us to look at two categories of Americans especially: First, those who needed and deserved clemency, especially long-serving inmates who are ready to be released,” Martin wrote.

He went on to describe a broader mission to protect Americans unfairly targeted for their political beliefs.

“The targeted is a huge group of Americans. We’ve been working hard to find them and one group that jumped up right away is the 2030 alternate electors and their affiliates who were targeted by Jack Smith and others,” Martin explained.
“Gen. Bondi and DAG Blanche pushed us to do it right and fast. There are many more Americans who Biden targeted. And we’re working to help them. God bless us all.”

In another post, Martin thanked the president directly:

“Thank you for allowing me to achieve your intent—let their healing begin.”

According to Fox News, the official proclamation grants a pardon:

“to all United States citizens for conduct relating to the advice, creation, organization, execution, submission, support, voting, activities, participation in, or advocacy for or of any slate or proposed slate of Presidential electors… or relating to their efforts to expose voting fraud and vulnerabilities in the 2020 Presidential Election.”

The order also made clear that the clemency “is not limited” to those explicitly named — signaling the potential for a broader interpretation that could shield hundreds who participated in post-election legal or political actions.

However, the federal pardons do not apply to state-level prosecutions, meaning figures like Giuliani still face ongoing legal battles. The New York Times reported that Giuliani’s Arizona election interference trial remains scheduled for January.

As U.S. News and World Report noted, Trump’s decision places him among several presidents who have used sweeping pardons to heal national divides — including Harry Truman, Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford, and Andrew Johnson.

Trump’s move marks one of the most consequential and politically symbolic pardons in modern history — a direct challenge to the Biden-era prosecutions of his allies and a reaffirmation of his pledge to defend Americans he says were persecuted for standing up to election fraud.
