Breaking Video: Ilhan Omar Physically Attacked During Town Hall
A disruptive incident unfolded late Tuesday at a Minneapolis town hall hosted by Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar when a man was tackled and arrested after spraying an unknown liquid in her direction, according to multiple news reports and video from the scene.
The event focused on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity within the city, as well as the protests and riots that have followed federal enforcement efforts. Tensions were already high as Omar used the forum to escalate her rhetoric against the Trump administration.
According to NBC News, the unidentified suspect walked down the center aisle while Omar was publicly calling for the resignation or impeachment of Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. As Omar declared that Noem “must resign or face impeachment,” the man shouted something inaudible before discharging the substance.
“Oh, my God, he sprayed something on her,” one witness exclaimed, as attendees rushed the stage. Another person remarked that the substance emitted a foul odor and urged that Omar “get checked.”
Omar refused.
“We will continue,” she said, angrily refusing to leave. “These fing a***s are not going to get away with this.”

Her congressional office and U.S. Capitol Police did not immediately comment Tuesday evening. Omar later addressed reporters after the town hall concluded, portraying the incident as political intimidation.
“I survived war, and I’m definitely going to survive intimidation and whatever these people think that they can throw at me, because I’m built that way,” she said.
Minneapolis police confirmed the suspect used a syringe to spray an unidentified liquid and was charged with third-degree assault. Forensic scientists were dispatched to the scene to analyze the substance.
“Representative Omar was uninjured and resumed speaking at the event,” police said in a statement.
The episode comes as Omar has positioned herself at the center of Minneapolis’ ongoing unrest, which escalated following revelations tied to a massive state-level fraud scandal that exploded late last year. President Donald J. Trump, now serving his second term, has placed renewed emphasis on addressing multibillion-dollar entitlement fraud schemes concentrated in the Twin Cities’ Somali community.
Omar initially lashed out at Republicans over the investigations, defiantly declaring that “we are not going anywhere” and insisting that Somali immigrants were the true victims of the scandal—not American taxpayers.
As ICE enforcement actions expanded across the Twin Cities, Omar emerged as one of the loudest critics of the Trump administration, particularly after the ICE-involved shooting death of Renee Good. Omar labeled the incident an “execution” and described Good as a “legal observer,” despite video evidence showing Good refusing lawful orders to exit her SUV and accelerating toward an ICE officer positioned in front of the vehicle.
She repeated the same language following the death of Alex Pretti in a Border Patrol-involved shooting over the weekend, again calling the incident an “execution” and demanding that ICE halt the apprehension of illegal aliens in the Minneapolis area.
The latest disruption underscores the volatile climate surrounding immigration enforcement under President Trump’s renewed push for border security, rule of law, and accountability—policies that continue to draw fierce opposition from progressive lawmakers even as public safety concerns mount.
