Breaking: Woman Steps Forward with Darkest Accusations Yet Against Swalwell
Former Rep. Eric Swalwell is facing a new and deeply disturbing accusation, as a California woman publicly alleged that he sexually assaulted her during an encounter in 2018.
At a press conference Tuesday, Lonna Drewes of Southern California delivered a graphic account of the alleged incident, claiming the former congressman violently attacked her during what she described as a harrowing encounter.
“He raped me, and he choked me,” Drewes said in a clip posted to the social media platform X.
According to her statement, the alleged assault escalated to the point where she feared for her life.
“And while he was choking me, I lost consciousness,” she added. “And I thought I died.”
Drewes further stated that she never consented to any form of sexual activity and described the long-term emotional toll the alleged incident had on her life.
“I did not consent to any sexual activity,” she continued. “Although I did not undergo a rape kit at the time, I disclosed the assault to the people closest to me. I also recorded these events in my handwritten calendar. The assault and its impact were later documented during my therapy sessions at a sexual assault center in Connecticut.”
She emphasized the lasting psychological impact, saying the experience led to severe emotional distress.
“The alleged attack,” she said, “had a profound impact on my mental health,” and she “self-medicated in an unhealthy way.”
“I did not want to live anymore,” she added. “I cried all the time for years. At the time, I was in a dating relationship with a boyfriend I was fully committed to. I’ve never cheated in my life. And I would never have engaged in a consensual sexual encounter with Eric Swalwell.”

According to reporting from the San Francisco Chronicle, Drewes said she met Swalwell three times in 2018. On the third meeting, she alleged that her drink may have been tampered with, leaving her severely impaired despite consuming only one glass of wine. She claims Swalwell then took her to a hotel room in West Hollywood, where the assault occurred.
Drewes indicated she plans to file a formal police report with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office, signaling that the matter could soon enter the criminal justice system.
This latest accusation adds to a growing list of allegations against Swalwell, as multiple women in recent weeks have come forward with claims of sexual misconduct. The former congressman has denied the accusations.
Meanwhile, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna suggested in a recent appearance on Fox News that the situation could involve even more serious claims, including potential misconduct involving a minor—though those assertions have not been substantiated publicly.
The political consequences have already been swift. Swalwell announced his resignation from Congress earlier this week, a move that followed his decision to suspend his campaign for governor of California amid intensifying scrutiny.
As the allegations continue to mount, the case is rapidly evolving into one of the most consequential political scandals in recent memory, raising serious questions about accountability, media coverage, and the standards applied to powerful figures within the Democratic Party.
