CNN Analyst Admits: Americans Side With President Trump on Liberal University Bias

Even CNN couldn’t deny it anymore.

In a moment that shocked mainstream viewers, CNN’s own data analyst Harry Enten openly admitted what President Donald J. Trump and millions of Americans have long said: colleges and universities in the United States are deeply biased — and the public knows it.

During a recent segment, Enten broke down polling data that confirmed overwhelming public concern about the leftward lurch of American higher education. The numbers didn’t just support conservative talking points — they blew them wide open.

“Yeah, I think going into this, I think a lot of Americans thought that higher ed needed a nice kick in the rear end,” Enten said during the segment with CNN anchor Kate Bolduan. “What am I talking about here? Well, why don’t we take a look at high confidence in higher education? You go back a decade ago, 57% of Americans had high confidence in higher education.”

That confidence has now cratered.

“Look at where we are now. That number has plummeted, plummeted, as of last year down to 36%,” he continued. “We’re talking about a 36-point drop among Republicans specifically. Get this: 68% of Americans said that higher education was on the wrong track. So it’s a question of whether or not people agree with Trump’s tactics, but they definitely agree with him on the idea that there is a problem with higher ed overall.”

That’s not just erosion — it’s collapse.

For years, President Trump has sounded the alarm on university campuses becoming ideological echo chambers for the far Left. From radical professors to one-sided curricula, the President has consistently warned that higher education is no longer about open inquiry — but indoctrination.

Enten confirmed what conservatives have said all along.

“So, you know, do colleges have a liberal bias? I think that’s really the question here,” he said. “And what we see in polling after polling after polling is that the plurality say, yes, overall, look at that. Forty five percent of Americans overall agree with the idea that colleges have a liberal bias. Just 24% disagree with that idea.”

He added: “Look among Republicans, hello! Sixty-seven percent of Republicans agree that colleges have a liberal bias. This is why Donald Trump is so emphatic and so wanting to take on this fight, because he knows that Republicans hate universities, hate the administrations, believe they have a liberal bias, and in fact the plurality of Americans overall agree with the idea, agree with Donald Trump, that colleges are in fact a place where bias reigns.”

The president’s stance isn’t just ideological — it’s already having a real-world impact.

Back in March, Columbia University — a long-standing bastion of progressive thought — was forced to comply with directives from the Trump administration after federal funding was withheld due to its failure to curb aggressive antisemitism on campus.

The move followed a series of escalating anti-Israel demonstrations that had raised national alarm.

According to The New York Post, Columbia finally instituted a mask ban and granted campus police the authority to make arrests at increasingly hostile protests. The university also announced a leadership overhaul to review curricula in controversial departments like Middle East, South Asian and African Studies, and the Center for Palestine Studies.

Katrina Armstrong, Columbia’s interim president, acknowledged the changes in a carefully worded memo. While she did not directly reference the targeting of Jewish students, the implication was clear.

“This past year has been one of enormous progress, where our community of thoughtful faculty, students, and stakeholders has shaped a principled and methodical approach to meeting the moment’s challenges,” Armstrong wrote in the memo posted to the university’s website.

“Our response to the government agencies outlines the substantive work we’ve been doing over the last academic year to advance our mission, ensure uninterrupted academic activities, and make every student, faculty, and staff member safe and welcome on our campus,” she added.

But none of these actions happened in a vacuum. They happened because President Trump and his administration refused to back down from the fight for free speech, academic integrity, and equal treatment for all students — regardless of ideology or faith.

And as CNN accidentally revealed: the American people are on his side.
