Cops Rush to Harris’ Malibu Home After Woman Illegally Enters Property

Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies responded to former Vice President Kamala Harris’ Malibu property Friday night after an unidentified woman entered the grounds without authorization.

Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, were not at their Point Dume residence when the incident occurred.

Private security personnel intercepted the woman before she reached the house and contacted law enforcement to report a suspicious individual on the property.

Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Lost Hills station were dispatched at approximately 10:30 p.m.

By the time deputies arrived, the woman was reportedly outside the property and speaking with members of Harris’ private security detail.

Authorities warned her to stay away and instructed her to leave the area. She complied voluntarily, and the encounter ended without a confrontation or arrest.

After interviewing those involved, deputies documented the episode in a trespassing report. The department also planned to increase patrols near the property as a precaution.

Harris spokesperson Eduardo Negrón confirmed that security personnel stopped the individual before she could approach the residence.

“Vice-President Harris and Second Gentleman Emhoff were not present,” Negrón said while describing the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“They are grateful to the security and law enforcement personnel who responded swiftly,” Negrón added in the statement.

Authorities have not disclosed the woman’s identity or explained why she entered the property.

No injuries, weapons, threats or property damage were reported. Law enforcement has not announced any criminal charges arising from the encounter.

Fox News reported that the woman appeared at the property twice before deputies were summoned.

According to that account, she initially arrived in an Uber and approached the security team, which told her to leave. She allegedly returned later, prompting Harris’ private security personnel to call the sheriff’s department.

The incident has renewed attention to the protective arrangements available to Harris since she left the vice presidency in January 2025.

Under federal law, former vice presidents generally continue receiving Secret Service protection for six months after departing office. Former national officials may subsequently rely upon private security and local law enforcement unless extended federal protection is authorized.

Harris and Emhoff reportedly own an approximately $8 million home in Malibu’s Point Dume neighborhood. Local reports indicate that the couple also maintains a residence in Los Angeles’ Brentwood area.

In January 2025, authorities arrested two people near the Brentwood property while emergency restrictions were in effect because of the Palisades Fire.

Officials classified those arrests as curfew violations and did not present them as evidence of a targeted threat against Harris.

Harris previously served as San Francisco district attorney, California attorney general and a United States senator before becoming vice president.

She replaced former President Joe Biden as the Democratic presidential nominee in 2024 after he abandoned his reelection campaign. She ultimately lost the election to President Donald Trump.

Since leaving Washington, Harris has remained a recognizable figure within the Democratic Party but has not settled questions about her political future.

Friday’s incident illustrated how private protection and local law enforcement work together around former high-ranking government officials. Harris’ security personnel identified the intrusion, prevented the woman from reaching the residence and requested assistance from county deputies.

Deputies then interviewed those present, ordered the woman to leave and formally documented the matter.

The department’s decision to increase patrols suggests authorities are exercising additional caution despite the absence of an arrest or publicly identified threat.

Investigators have not announced a motive or indicated that further enforcement action is expected. Harris and Emhoff were never confronted, and the woman departed peacefully after receiving a warning.
