Crockett Defends Extreme Rhetoric After Charlie Kirk Assassination

Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, doubled down Friday on her comparison of President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler — remarks that came just 48 hours after Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was gunned down in Utah by a left-wing extremist.

Speaking on The Breakfast Club, Crockett refused to retract her rhetoric and instead tried to shift blame for political violence onto Trump himself.

“We’ve got to talk about, like, what it means when you’re runnin’ for president or you’re runnin’ for one of these higher offices, and you go out there and you talk about beating people up,” she said.
“You go out there and you say things like ‘I can shoot somebody in the middle of the street in New York and I could still win.’”

Crockett insisted that labeling Trump a “wannabe Hitler” was not incitement, but then claimed Trump “promotes a culture of violence” at his rallies.

Democrats’ Rhetoric and Its Consequences

The congresswoman’s remarks highlight a larger trend: Democrats have for years branded Trump and his supporters as existential threats to democracy, deploying dehumanizing language while accusing conservatives of hatred.

Even former President Joe Biden indulged such talk, once saying in 2016 that he would like to take Trump “behind the gym.”

This type of rhetoric is not without consequence. By telling young, impressionable followers that Republicans are akin to Nazis, Democrat leaders plant the seeds for the very real violence America is now seeing.

Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, was described by a former friend as “pretty left on everything” and the lone leftist in a Republican family. That friend told The Guardian Robinson’s radicalism sharpened in high school, when he constantly ranted about politics.

He even referenced the engraving on his bullets as a nod to the video game Helldivers 2.

“I knew he had strong political views, but I never thought it would even go near that far,” the friend admitted.

Trump Responds

President Donald Trump confirmed on Fox & Friends Friday morning that Robinson had been arrested.

“I think, with a high degree of certainty, we have him,” Trump said live, adding that he received word of the capture just minutes before going on air.

As Robinson awaits charges for the assassination of Kirk, Democrats like Crockett continue to escalate their rhetoric rather than take responsibility for the poisonous climate they have helped create.
