Dem Houston Mayoral Appointee, Princeton Fellow, Slams Girls Killed in Texas Flood for Going to 'White Only' Camp
As Texas continues to mourn the tragic flooding that claimed over 100 lives — including 27 young girls and counselors at a Christian summer camp — a former Houston official is under fire for delivering the most vile and disgraceful take imaginable.
Sadé Perkins, a former appointee to Houston’s Food Insecurity Board and current Princeton University fellow, went viral for comments suggesting it wasn’t a tragedy that children at Camp Mystic had died, because the camp was, in her words, "white only."

“Camp Mystic is a whites-only, girls’ Christian camp. … If you ain’t white, you ain’t right, you ain’t getting in, you ain’t going. Period,” Perkins said in a now-infamous video posted after the flooding.
Perkins, who described herself as “ready to get canceled,” doubled down repeatedly in the days that followed — referring to the missing and dead girls as "c*s**" online and mocking concerned users who reminded her these were children, not political pawns.
One of the down sides of social media is experiencing some of the worst humanity has to offer. When someone pointed out, “THESE ARE CHILDREN,” Perkins snapped back, “So ARE THE KIDS IN ICE!”
Another user, claiming to be a non-white former camper at Camp Mystic, told Perkins how much the camp meant to her. Perkins' reply:
“I can and I did. Show your face if you’re not white.”
This isn’t some random troll online. Perkins was appointed by former Democrat Mayor Sylvester Turner to a city board in 2023, giving her a formal role in public policy. Her term expired earlier this year, and thankfully, current Houston Mayor John Whitmire has now permanently disavowed her.
“The comments shared on social media are deeply inappropriate and have no place in a decent society,” Whitmire said, announcing her permanent removal from city service. “Especially as families grieve the confirmed deaths and the ongoing search for the missing.”
But the collapse of her career didn’t stop there.
Even her boyfriend, a white Unitarian Universalist reverend, released a public statement condemning her statements.
“I disavow her comments,” he said. “She was not speaking on my behalf or on behalf of my congregation. Her comments have caused harm to many who are experiencing terrible loss and anxiety.”
But Perkins? She’s not backing down.
In yet another disturbing video, she reiterated her belief that the attention paid to the mostly white, Christian victims of the flood was evidence of racial bias — and continued to lash out.
This is an update on the woman in Texas who said that these children deserved to pass because they were white and Christian — while being married to a white minister.

“I still stand behind — 10 toes down on the motherf***ing ground,” she shouted. “There’s no prayers going up for [kids in ICE detention], but we’re supposed to stop the world … for these little missing white girls.”
UPDATE: Sade Perkins, who recently sparked outrage with a vile, racially charged video about Camp Mystic in Texas following the disappearance of children during the floods, has now posted a new video of herself at a shooting range—captioned “To anyone who think's it might be a… https://t.co/PsONh3mWZd pic.twitter.com/jzs2bLZ4gj

The sheer cruelty and racial hatred at the center of Perkins’ comments would be condemned in any moral society. But the modern Left, which routinely turns a blind eye to anti-Christian bigotry, anti-white rhetoric, and racialized double standards, has yet to speak out forcefully — or at all.
And while families mourn their lost daughters and communities try to heal from one of the deadliest natural disasters in Texas history, a former public official used her platform to spew hatred toward the victims — and stood by every word.

View PlansIt’s a sad indictment of the radicalized academic and activist culture that gave Perkins her credentials in the first place. And while she may be unemployed now, her worldview is alive and well in many of the same institutions that shape public discourse today.
Sade Perkins won’t apologize. But the rest of us should be furious.
