Democrat Aftyn Behn’s Radical Record Exposed — From Screaming Activism to Open Hatred for Her Own District

Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District is one of the strongest pro-Trump regions in the country — yet Democrats are attempting to flip it with a candidate who has openly ridiculed the community, embraced extremist activism, and championed fringe cultural policies far outside the values of Tennessee families.

Aftyn Behn, the Democrat running in Tuesday’s special election to replace former Republican Rep. Mark Green, has surged into the media spotlight not because of her leadership — but because of her volatile public behavior, her far-left crusades, and her admitted contempt for the people she now wants to represent.

A Pattern of Activism, Chaos, and Public Meltdowns

Behn first gained attention in 2019 when she joined “Enough is Enough-Tennessee,” a pressure group that stormed Republican Gov. Bill Lee’s office in an attempt to force him to support the resignation of then-Rep. David Byrd over allegations that were never prosecuted. Video shows Behn rushing at officers inside the governor’s office, only to be immediately restrained and dragged out while she screamed uncontrollably.

Only a month later, Behn disrupted the Tennessee Legislature by barging into the chamber and shouting accusations at lawmakers. She yelled:

“I’m here today on behalf of communities that you have silenced today in this legislative session… You have been violent and extreme towards people of color, towards women, towards minorities! You have failed! This is unacceptable behavior! You shouldn’t do this! This is the worst administration!”

Security escorted her out of the chamber and later cited her.

“I Hate the City” – Her Words, Not Her Critics’

Despite campaigning to represent Nashville and the surrounding region, Behn has openly admitted her hostility toward the city and what makes it culturally unique.

“I hate the city, I hate the bachelorettes, I hate the pedal taverns, I hate country music, I hate all of the things that make Nashville apparently an ‘it’ city to the rest of the country. But I hate it,” she said on the “Year Old GRITS” podcast in February 2020.

That hostility didn’t stop at culture. In a March 2019 Tennessean op-ed, Behn labeled the entire state a hotbed of racism, writing:

“Let me be clear: Tennessee is a racist state. Racism is in the air we breathe…”

Abortion Without Limits — Even at Home

Behn has repeatedly embraced the most extreme abortion positions possible, even pushing for do-it-yourself abortion training after Roe v. Wade was overturned.

She stated during a 2022 interview:

“…instead of going to a doctor because we won’t have any doctors that provide abortions, how do you do it at home? … we’ll continue to figure out how to get abortion pills to people.”

Her activist agenda doesn’t stop there.

Uncompromising Support for Transgender Ideology

During a House race forum, Behn vowed:

“Every legislative session, I promise to carry a trans bill of rights…”

She has condemned Tennessee’s protections for children that prohibit permanent medical procedures on minors. After the Supreme Court upheld the state law, she claimed the ruling was “pushing us farther into a dangerous future.”

She has also insisted that men can give birth, telling a podcast audience in 2020:

“I think we have as birthers… men and women who can give birth…”

Contempt for Marriage, Motherhood, and Family Values

Behn has also expressed open disdain for women who choose to marry and have children, describing them as engaged in “deeply patriarchal structures.” On a 2020 podcast episode, she described a recurring dream where she screamed:

“I don’t want children. I want power!”

She stated that motherhood represents a professional sacrifice women should avoid — a message entirely at odds with the values of the district.

Behn’s now-deleted 2020 posts on X called for dissolving the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department altogether. She wrote that “defunding the police” should be a condition for reopening schools, and suggested burning down police stations could be justified under certain circumstances. She refused to retract these comments during an interview on MS NOW Sunday.

What’s at Stake for Tennessee

In a district where President Donald J. Trump continues to enjoy overwhelming support, Democrats are gambling that a candidate who has screamed at state officials, encouraged DIY abortions, championed transgender medical procedures for minors, and declared her hatred for Nashville can somehow represent the people of Tennessee.

Voters will decide whether the 7th District sends a representative who reflects traditional values and strong leadership — or a radical activist who openly despises the culture, faith, and family principles that define the community.
