Democrat Lawmaker Calls Out ‘Old Guard’ With Epstein Twist
While President Donald J. Trump continues to deliver real results for working-class Americans in his second term, cracks are widening within the Democratic Party — and they’re coming straight from the inside.
At the recent Voters of Tomorrow Summit — a gathering of young progressive activists held in Washington, D.C. — far-left California Congressman Ro Khanna unleashed a blistering rebuke of the Democratic establishment, calling for a complete overhaul of the party’s leadership, its priorities, and its alliance with big money interests.
“How can we trust government to do big things when government has been corrupted?” Khanna asked rhetorically.
“For those who want a progressive future, for those who want a government that works to build security and opportunity for the working class, we must get rid of the big money in politics.”

In a rare move for a sitting Democrat, Khanna invoked the explosive Jeffrey Epstein files and the growing public demand for transparency — something establishment Democrats and legacy media continue to downplay.
“The release of the Epstein files is not a magic cure for trust, but it is a first step,” Khanna said, per The New York Post. “It’s a first step to say we will have a new era of transparency.”
Khanna didn’t stop there. With words that could have easily been mistaken for a populist rallying cry, he turned his fire inward.
“The old guard needs to go. The old ways have not been working. This party needs a new rebirth,” he declared. “This party needs a rebirth to stand for human rights… to stand for the working class… to stand for people over the donor class.”
But while Khanna was throwing bombs, other top Democrats were busy clinging to the same stale political tactics that have alienated working Americans for years. Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in her speech at the same event, doubled down on establishment confidence — and the need for campaign cash.
“We have no doubt that we will win the election with the House of Representatives,” Pelosi insisted.
“It’s important to be strong in the year in advance... We have our messaging, we have our mobilization, we need the money to do it.”
The summit, which also featured virtual remarks from former Vice President Kamala Harris, highlighted the growing divide between older Democrat elites and their increasingly radical base.
Khanna’s speech comes as Democrats face growing pressure from the second Trump administration and dramatic shifts in voter demographics. Generation Z — which first voted en masse in 2022 and 2024 — is demanding ideological clarity. But rather than unifying, the Democratic Party appears to be splintering under the weight of its contradictions.
While some Democrats are calling for moderation in a post-Biden era, others like Khanna are pulling hard to the left — adopting language that sounds eerily similar to the progressive-socialist wing of Bernie Sanders and the Squad.
“This party needs a rebirth to find our courage in standing up for immigrant rights instead of running away when people talk about immigration,” Khanna said.
“This party needs more people like you in Congress than the current people we have in Congress.”
Khanna closed his speech by promoting a vision of a Democratic Party remade in the image of economic populism and racial identity politics:
“A reborn Democratic Party, a populist Democratic Party, a multiracial Democratic Party… that looks like the future is a Democratic Party that can lead us back to victory and lead us to a better America,” he said.

But for many Americans already weary of radical agendas and Washington dysfunction, President Trump’s America First leadership stands in sharp contrast — offering real economic growth, renewed border enforcement, and respect for the Constitution.
