Democrat Senate Candidate Arrested For Threatening Trump’s Life
A Democrat Senate candidate in Pennsylvania is facing serious federal charges after authorities say he made explicit threats against national leaders, adding to growing concerns about political extremism and security threats in the current climate.
Federal agents arrested Raymond Chandler in Pittsburgh on Friday, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the United States Secret Service. Court filings in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania outline a series of alleged voicemails containing violent threats directed at members of Congress and Donald J. Trump.
According to investigators, Chandler left a message on April 18 in which he described a graphic scenario involving mass violence against a lawmaker and their family, stating they would be attacked and killed. He allegedly justified the remarks by referencing economic grievances, claiming “wealth concentration has gotten so bad in this country.”
Authorities say the rhetoric escalated days later. In a second voicemail on April 29, Chandler allegedly said, “I want you to put that firearm to the President’s head, and I want you to pull the trigger and I want you to kill him.” He also referred to President Trump as “a liar among all liars. He’s a great deceiver. He’s the antichrist.”
Congressional staff ultimately alerted law enforcement as the messages became increasingly threatening, targeting not only the president but also lawmakers and federal immigration authorities.
Just hours before his arrest, Chandler reportedly released a campaign video announcing his intention to challenge John Fetterman in the 2028 election. His platform included progressive policy priorities such as higher taxes on billionaires, expanded social programs, increased regulation of technology companies, and abolishing ICE.
Separate Case: Attempted Assassination Charges
In a separate but equally alarming case, Cole Allen, a 31-year-old from Torrance, California, has been formally charged in connection with an alleged assassination attempt targeting President Trump.
According to the United States Department of Justice, Allen is accused of entering the Washington Hilton during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner armed with multiple weapons and attempting to reach the ballroom where the president was उपस्थित alongside Cabinet officials and members of the press.
During his initial court appearance, Allen faced multiple charges, including attempted assassination of the president, discharging a firearm during a violent crime, and transporting a weapon across state lines.

“He attempted to assassinate the president of the United States, Donald J. Trump,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Jocelyn Ballantine told the court. “We are asking the court to preventatively detain Mr. Allen.”
Jeanine Pirro also addressed the case, emphasizing its severity.
“Cole Allen’s journey of accountability in the criminal justice system starts today,” Pirro said, adding, “There will be additional charges as this investigation continues to unfold.”
“But make no mistake, this was an attempted assassination of the President of the United States, with the defendant making clear what his intent was,” she continued. “And that intent was to bring down as many of the high ranking Cabinet officials as he could. This is the kind of situation that we cannot tolerate.”
