Democrats’ Cheap Shot at Texas AG Backfires, Exposes Gavin Newsom’s Scandalous Past

Democrats can’t help but trip over their own hypocrisy. Monday’s social media misfire was just the latest reminder.

On the platform X, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced his intent to enforce state law requiring schools to display the Ten Commandments. Almost immediately, the official “Democrats” account attempted to ridicule him with a one-liner: “Thou shalt not commit adultery.”

The attack was meant to mock Paxton over his admitted past affair. Instead, it dragged their own golden boy, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, right back into the spotlight of his own sordid history.

Glass Houses and Stones

Paxton acknowledged an extramarital affair in 2018, a fact used by Democrats as political fodder during his 2023 impeachment trial — a trial that ended in his acquittal. His wife, State Sen. Angela Paxton, recently filed for divorce citing infidelity.

But Democrats conveniently ignore the skeletons in their own closet. Newsom, once heralded as the future of the Democratic Party, was caught in a scandal two decades ago. The Los Angeles Times reported that as mayor of San Francisco, he had an affair with a subordinate, Ruby Rippey Gibney.

This week, as Democrats lobbed their weak jab at Paxton, social media users resurrected a 2007 clip of Newsom himself publicly admitting to what he called a “personal lapse of judgment.”

The blowback was swift and brutal. “Do you clowns really not understand that the internet is forever???” one X user mocked.

No Moral High Ground

Others turned their fire directly at the Democratic Party’s platform. “Even Satan can quote scripture,” one user blasted. “The Democrat Party, which is the enemy of God and all of His scriptures, has no moral ground to stand on. You applaud the murder of babies and the slaughter of our own citizens by illegal immigrants. Quite literally, go to Hell.”

The episode once again revealed a fundamental truth: when Democrats posture as moral arbiters, it inevitably backfires. Their hypocrisy is too glaring, their record too stained, their party too consumed by radical agendas.

This latest flop only underscores why Americans continue to turn away from a party that has reached historic lows in trust and credibility.
