Desperate Democrat Pushes Trump Impeachment Vote — Gets Slammed by His Own Party

As Democrats spiral further into internal disarray, one embattled congressman’s reckless attempt to force yet another impeachment vote against President Donald Trump is sparking backlash—not from Republicans, but from within his own party.

Rep. Shri Thanedar of Michigan, facing growing scrutiny and a tough primary challenge, introduced a privileged resolution on Tuesday containing seven articles of impeachment against President Trump. Under House rules, that move forces a vote within two legislative days, likely by Thursday, according to Axios.

But even Democrats are calling foul, accusing Thanedar of political theater in a desperate bid to revive his sinking re-election campaign. With Republicans holding both chambers of Congress, the resolution is guaranteed to fail—making the move appear more like a stunt than a serious legislative effort.

“It’s going to cause Democrats in [competitive] seats to make tough decisions,” one anonymous House Democrat told Axios, clearly frustrated at being forced to take a vote they know is doomed and politically risky.

Another Democrat called Thanedar’s move “utterly selfish behavior,” while others dismissed it as “dumb,” “irrelevant,” and “a waste of time.”

Thanedar’s troubles go beyond political miscalculation. He’s already under fire for allegations of animal cruelty, a scandal that’s further eroding his credibility and standing in the Democratic Party. The fallout has been swift—several Democratic co-sponsors have already yanked their support from the bill, saying Thanedar misled them into thinking party leadership was backing the effort.

According to the Detroit News, the backlash has grown so severe that some House Democrats are actively considering endorsing his primary opponent to ensure Thanedar doesn’t return to Washington.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump responded to the impeachment push with trademark clarity and force on X (formerly Twitter):

“The Democrats are really out of control. They have lost everything, especially their minds! These Radical Left Lunatics are into the ‘impeachment thing’ again.”

Calling out Thanedar and Rep. Al Green of Texas by name, President Trump blasted the baseless attacks:

“They have already got two ‘No Name,’ little respected Congressmen, total Whackjobs both, throwing the ‘Impeachment’ of DONALD J. TRUMP around, for about the 20th time, even though they have no idea for what I would be Impeached.”

The President then turned the focus back to the failed legacy of the Democrats who now grasp at straws:

“Maybe it should be for cleaning up the MESS that they left us on the Border, or the Highest Inflation in our Country’s History or, perhaps, it should be the incompetent Withdrawal from Afghanistan, or Russia, Russia, Russia/Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine, or the Attack of Israel on October 7th that only proceeded because they allowed Iran to regain Great Wealth.”

President Trump further pointed out the absurdity of the impeachment obsession:

“These Congressmen stated that, they didn’t know why they would Impeach me but, ‘We just want to do it.’”

And he offered a bold solution of his own:

“The Republicans should start to think about expelling them from Congress for all of the crimes that they have committed, especially around Election time(s). These are very dishonest people that won’t let our Country heal! Why do we allow them to continuously use Impeachment as a weapon against the President of the United States who, by all accounts, is working hard to SAVE OUR COUNTRY.”

With no evidence, no bipartisan support, and no viable path forward, Thanedar’s impeachment stunt has only deepened the perception that Democrats are more interested in vendettas than governing. As President Trump continues delivering results, the opposition seems increasingly determined to self-destruct.
