Devin Nunes Calls for Security Clearance Revocations Over ‘Grand Conspiracy’ Against President Trump
Devin Nunes, Chairman of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board and CEO of Truth Social, is urging the Biden administration to revoke the security clearances of former Obama-era intelligence and law enforcement officials involved in what he calls a “grand conspiracy” against President Donald J. Trump.
In an interview with Just the News, Nunes did not mince words about the gravity of what he believes transpired under the guise of intelligence operations during and after the 2016 election.
“Look, it’s really simple. There’s lots of criminals here, and it was a grand conspiracy,” Nunes said.
“Remember, we made, I don’t know, a dozen criminal referrals when I was chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.”
While the statute of limitations may restrict prosecutions in some cases, Nunes said he believes a broader conspiracy case could keep those responsible legally exposed. He expressed confidence in FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi to make the necessary calls on prosecution.
More immediately, Nunes emphasized the urgent need to strip security clearances from individuals still embedded in federal agencies—people he says played a direct role in promoting the now-debunked Russia collusion narrative.
“I just continue to be fascinated by the people who are still carrying a security clearance. It’s amazing who are still in these agencies,” Nunes stated.
“All of those people need to get their security clearances pulled, and they should not be working anywhere near law enforcement or intelligence, for that matter.”
His comments come as newly declassified documents released by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard reveal that senior Obama officials knowingly misled the public by crafting a false narrative about Trump colluding with Russia. These officials reportedly fabricated a post-election intelligence report designed to cast doubt on the legitimacy of President Trump’s victory.
According to The Washington Times, Gabbard has submitted those documents to the Department of Justice for criminal referral. The individuals named include former President Barack Obama, ex-DNI James Clapper, former CIA Director John Brennan, and disgraced FBI Director James Comey.
James Clapper, upon the release of the damning documents, admitted in a media interview that he has now “lawyered up.”
Fred Fleitz, a former CIA analyst with nearly 20 years of experience, warned the entire episode has severely damaged the credibility of the intelligence community.
“It made it look like it’s a big political game. There’s always some politics, but it was never as bad as it was until Trump became president,” Fleitz told The Times, citing abuses by Adam Schiff and John Brennan.
Gabbard has made her position clear:
“Their goal was to usurp President Trump and subvert the will of the American people,” she posted on X.
“No matter how powerful, every person involved in this conspiracy must be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
The integrity of our democratic republic depends on it. We are turning over all documents to the DOJ for criminal referral.”
The DOJ confirmed Monday that it has received the referral.
As the revelations continue to unfold, the American people are left with a sobering truth: the most powerful arms of government were weaponized to try to destroy a duly elected president.
