DHS’ Noem Rushed To Hospital By Ambulance, Doctors Release Diagnosis

Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem was hospitalized Tuesday after suffering an allergic reaction, according to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spokesperson.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin confirmed to Fox News Digital that Noem was taken to the hospital as a precaution. While the specific cause of the allergic episode remains undetermined, officials stated that Noem was “alert and recovering.” No timeline has been provided for her release.

The health scare comes at a time of increased threats against public officials and heightened tensions over immigration policy—one of Noem’s primary areas of focus in President Donald J. Trump’s second term.

Support Pours In for Noem

Messages of support flooded social media following the news. Bruce LeVell, former Executive Director of President Trump’s National Diversity Coalition, wrote on X:

“My dear friend @Sec_Noem, our fearless Secretary of Homeland Security, was just rushed to the hospital. My heart is with her during this challenging time, but I know her strength and determination will shine through. Please join me in keeping Kristi in your prayers for a swift and full recovery.”

“She has been tirelessly spearheading @realDonaldTrump initiative to uphold law and order and utilize ICE to keep our country safe from criminals. Let’s stand strong for her, just as she’s stood strong for America.”

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk echoed the sentiment with a simple and direct message: “Pray for Kristi.”

Flashpoint With Democrat Senator

Noem’s recent public appearance in California drew national attention when Democrat Senator Alex Padilla attempted to confront her during a press conference on immigration enforcement.

According to Fox LA, Padilla aggressively approached Secretary Noem without coordination or clearance, prompting Secret Service agents—who initially did not recognize him—to intervene. Even after Padilla identified himself, agents were forced to restrain and handcuff him due to his continued resistance.

Padilla recounted the event in an emotional Senate floor speech on Tuesday, attempting to portray himself as the victim of political overreach. DHS, however, issued a stern defense of its agents, stating the senator's actions were “disrespectful political theater,” especially in light of the recent assassination of a Minnesota Democrat and the shooting of a state senator just days earlier.

“They thought he was an attacker,” a Homeland Security official said.

Noem later told Fox LA that she had a “great” conversation with Padilla after the incident, but added, “his approach is something that I don’t think was appropriate at all.”

A Target of Criminal Migrants

This isn't the first time Secretary Noem has found herself in the crosshairs. On Easter Sunday this year, her personal purse was stolen while dining with family at The Capital Burger in Washington, D.C. The bag contained her Homeland Security badge, passport, driver's license, house keys, and roughly $3,000 in cash—intended for gifts and family activities during the holiday.

According to the New York Post, the primary suspect is an illegal immigrant who now faces federal charges of aggravated identity theft, robbery, and fraud. A second migrant suspect remains at large.

Leadership Amid Crisis

Noem, a former governor of South Dakota and U.S. congresswoman, has remained a key figure in President Trump’s administration. She specifically requested to lead Homeland Security, stating the role aligned with President Trump’s America First priorities—including the restoration of border enforcement and the protection of national sovereignty.
