DNC Prepares for Convention by Targeting Trump Tower in Chicago

On the eve of their convention, the Democratic National Committee projected various messages onto Trump Tower in Chicago on Sunday night.

One of the messages boldly stated, “Trump-Vance ‘Weird as Hell.’”

DNC spokesperson Abhi Rahman shared on X, “While [Democrats] are joyfully celebrating in Chicago, residents of Chi-town are seeing a special message projected on Trump Tower.”

Another message displayed was “Project 2025 HQ.”

Project 2025, curated by The Heritage Foundation along with other conservative groups, outlines a list of conservative goals. However, Donald Trump has emphasized that it has no connection to him and should not be linked to his campaign.

A different message read: “Harris Walz Joy and Hope.”

“Hope” and “change” were the central themes of Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign.

Rahman confirmed to Rolling Stone that the DNC was using a room across from Trump Tower to project these messages.

In a statement to Newsweek, he said, “All eyes are on Chicago, and tonight everyone is seeing a preview of the contrast that will take center stage this week throughout the Democratic National Convention. Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz have proven records of delivering for working families, and now, they’re running to lead our country into a brighter future.”

President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden are slated to speak to the convention delegates on Monday night, alongside former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Obama is scheduled to address the gathering on Tuesday night, followed by former President Bill Clinton, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and vice presidential nominee Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on Wednesday night.

Finally, on Thursday, Vice President Kamala Harris will formally accept her party’s nomination for president.

The Associated Press reported that while the Democrats are convening in deeply blue Illinois, Trump is set to campaign in swing states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, North Carolina, and Arizona before heading to Nevada on Friday.
