DOJ Launches Probe After Chilling Report On Riot Funding

A coordinated investigation is now underway to uncover who is bankrolling the violent anti-ICE riots erupting in Los Angeles and other Democrat-run cities. The news comes after a major protest-organizing firm confirmed that it had received high-budget requests to fuel the unrest — and declined out of concern for legality and public safety.

Crowds on Demand, a California-based company that provides paid demonstrators, told Fox News Digital it had been approached to support anti-ICE riots but rejected the offer. “We receive inquiries regarding practically every major social cause imaginable, and the anti-ICE demonstrations are no exception,” the company said in a statement. “The fact that we receive requests does not mean we take them, in many cases, because the budget does not match the ambition.”

But the company made one thing very clear: it steers clear of “any form of illegal activity, including violence, vandalism, or blocking off roads without a permit.” According to their statement, even organizing peaceful anti-ICE demonstrations would be too risky because of the "violent agitators" drawn to such events.

Now, Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism, is taking action. Hawley, along with California Rep. Kevin Kiley, is demanding answers from radical organizations that may be funding the civil unrest — including the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA), an open-borders advocacy group deeply involved in the Los Angeles protests.

Who is funding the LA riots? This violence isn’t spontaneous,” Hawley posted on X. “As chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime & Terrorism, I’m launching an investigation to find out.”

In a formal letter, Hawley accused CHIRLA of providing “logistical support and financial resources to individuals engaged in these disruptive actions.” He added a clear warning: “Bankrolling civil unrest is not protected speech. It is aiding and abetting criminal conduct. Accordingly, you must immediately cease and desist any further involvement.”

At the same time, the Department of Justice under President Donald J. Trump is suing the city of Los Angeles over its defiant sanctuary city policy — an ordinance passed in the wake of Trump’s 2024 victory that bars city employees from cooperating with federal immigration enforcement.

According to the DOJ’s complaint, LA’s policy has directly contributed to widespread chaos. “The practical upshot of Los Angeles’ refusal to cooperate with federal immigration authorities has, since June 6, 2025, been lawlessness, rioting, looting, and vandalism,” it reads.

The situation became so severe that the California National Guard and United States Marines were deployed to restore order in America’s second-largest city — a drastic but necessary response under President Trump’s renewed focus on law and order.

The lawsuit slams Los Angeles for “interfering with and discriminating against” federal immigration enforcement. The city's policy, the DOJ claims, violates the Constitution by obstructing federal agents, prohibiting information sharing, and prioritizing illegal aliens over American citizens.

Attorney General Pamela Bondi didn’t mince words in her official statement: “Sanctuary policies were the driving cause of the violence, chaos, and attacks on law enforcement that Americans recently witnessed in Los Angeles. Jurisdictions like Los Angeles that flout federal law by prioritizing illegal aliens over American citizens are undermining law enforcement at every level — it ends under President Trump.

While the left continues to enable lawlessness and attack those who enforce our nation’s laws, this administration is taking real action to defend the rule of law, protect American citizens, and hold radical groups accountable.
