Don Jr. Makes Game-Changing 2028 Announcement

Donald Trump Jr. addressed speculation on Friday about a potential 2028 presidential bid, indicating he is considering following in his father’s political footsteps when President Donald Trump reaches his term limit.
Citing unnamed sources, Mediaite reported that Don Jr. was actively looking into a possible campaign for the Republican nomination. This comes after his father notably declined to endorse his vice president, JD Vance, as a successor, remarking that it was “too early” to make such a decision.
“No, but he’s very capable,” President Trump commented at the time. “I mean, I don’t think that it, you know, I think you have a lot of very capable people. So far, I think he’s doing a fantastic job. It’s too early, we’re just starting.”
Trump’s reluctance to back Vance immediately surprised some observers, as many expected the vice president to naturally assume leadership of the MAGA movement after Trump’s departure from office in four years.
According to insiders who spoke anonymously to Mediaite, the remarks aligned with Trump’s ongoing efforts to solidify his family’s influence in politics beyond his own presidency.
Multiple high-ranking sources confirmed to Mediaite that Donald Trump Jr., a prominent figure in the MAGA movement and an influential online presence, is giving serious thought to a 2028 run.
“Don has been the most politically involved of all the Trump kids and has always kept the lanes open for a presidential run,” one White House insider and close associate of the Trump family explained. “He is a valued voice for his father, and a real possibility to be a contender in 2028.”
Another Trump insider noted, “Don Jr. has long been a key voice in influencing cabinet picks, policy, and potential endorsements. He has also consistently been the most active on the campaign trail for the president as well as his endorsed candidates.”
Mediaite also quoted a separate “Trump family friend” who expressed certainty about Don Jr.’s future political ambitions.
“One hundred percent he will run, but only for president not VP,” the source claimed. “He is older and more experienced than JD. In about a year, real conversations will start about him running. At this point, it’s too soon, and he doesn’t want to start a battle with JD, especially since they are friends.”
However, Don Jr. quickly dismissed the speculation and criticized Mediaite for reporting it.
“I accurately predicted that my buddy JD would be an instant power player in national GOP politics, so your theory is that I worked my ass off to help get him the VP nomination because I want to run for president in 2028?” he said in a statement to the publication.
“Are you f**king retarded? I’m actually glad you’re printing this bullshit though because at least now the rest of the press corps will see how shitty your ‘sources’ are and how easily you’re played by them. Congrats, moron,” he added, according to Mediaite.
Meanwhile, Don Jr. recently traveled to Greenland in January alongside Sergio Gor, the current director of the White House Office of Presidential Personnel, shortly after President Trump announced plans for the U.S. to acquire the autonomous territory.
Additionally, President Trump placed restrictions on Venezuela’s oil production last week, coinciding with Don Jr.’s interview with Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado on his Rumble show, Triggered.
A source also informed Mediaite that Don Jr. is expected to embark on further international trips in the near future.
Mocking the rumors, Don Jr. took to X to share his thoughts on the situation.
“LOL A lot of fake stories have been written about me over the years, but this might be the most obviously fake one yet. Congrats to @dianafalzone & @Mediaite for embarrassing themselves. You guys got played and now all your friends in the press are mocking you behind your back,” he posted.
