Ed Martin Announces Monumental Shift in Jan. 6 Pipe Bomber Case

In a major revelation that could breathe new life into a long-stagnant investigation, former interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia and former Department of Justice Pardon Attorney Ed Martin gave a significant update on the unsolved January 6 pipe bomber case during an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson.

Martin appeared on The Tucker Carlson Show Wednesday, where he delivered a clear and decisive statement: “I’ve got the pipe bomber case in my office.” The comment immediately caught attention, suggesting fresh movement on a case that has, for nearly four years, baffled federal authorities and frustrated the American public.

Martin pointed to a renewed approach under Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino, telling Carlson that Bongino ordered a full reset on the case: “Bongino said to the FBI, ‘Change all the agents. Everybody look at it again.’” Martin emphasized the need to reexamine all angles and raised concerns that earlier investigative failures may not just be the result of incompetence—but possibly something more sinister.

The pipe bomber case dates back to the chaos of January 6, 2021, when two explosive devices were discovered—one outside the Republican National Committee headquarters, the other outside the Democratic National Committee. Though these bombs never detonated, they posed a serious threat to public safety and forced law enforcement to divert resources during a critical moment at the U.S. Capitol.

Earlier this year, the Committee on House Administration’s Subcommittee on Oversight issued a damning report on the FBI’s handling of the case. Nearly four years on, the federal government has yet to name or apprehend a suspect. The Committee summed up its findings bluntly: “Nearly four years later, federal law enforcement has yet to identify the individual responsible for planting the pipe bombs, which remains one of the unanswered questions from that day.”

According to the report, the FBI initially took aggressive investigative measures—identifying persons of interest, securing warrants, reviewing extensive video footage, and analyzing the bomb components. Still, no answers. “Despite the threat the pipe bombs posed to Congress and the public and the role they played in diverting resources away from the Capitol,” the report noted, “federal law enforcement has refused to provide substantive updates to Congress about the status of the investigation.”

That’s where Martin’s latest update becomes crucial. With a new team and renewed oversight under Bongino’s leadership, there is reason to believe the trail may no longer be cold.

Bongino, known for his no-nonsense demeanor and loyalty to constitutional principles, is not your typical Washington insider. Unlike the careerists who treat public service as a stepping stone to private-sector paydays, Bongino has already made his mark in media. As The Daily Signal reported, he earned millions from his nationally syndicated radio show and his stake in Rumble, the free-speech video platform popular among conservatives. Financially secure, Bongino is now earning a modest government salary—between $144,000 and $201,000 annually—suggesting his motivations are grounded in public duty, not personal enrichment.

Given the left's fixation on January 6, one might expect bipartisan eagerness to solve this lingering mystery. After all, Democrats and their allies in corporate media turned January 6 into a political theater production, complete with primetime hearings and breathless coverage on networks like CNN. If there were ever a case they’d want to see resolved, this should be it.

But the silence has been deafening.

That’s why the efforts of individuals like Ed Martin and Dan Bongino matter. They’re not playing political games—they’re focused on uncovering the truth. And when it comes to a potential act of domestic terrorism, that should transcend party lines.

Whether this renewed effort will finally bring the bomber to justice remains to be seen. But one thing is certain: under Bongino’s watch, the American people may finally get the answers they’ve been denied for far too long.
