Elon Musk’s Father Urged Him To Mend Fences With Trump: Report

As tensions simmer between tech mogul Elon Musk and President Donald J. Trump, Elon’s father, Errol Musk, is urging his son to deescalate the situation and move toward reconciliation.

In an interview with Al Arabiya English on Friday, Errol revealed that he had messaged Elon directly, advising him to let the conflict “fizzle out.” Confident that the dust-up would soon pass, the elder Musk brushed it off as “elephant bulls or alphas having a go at each other.”

But Errol didn’t hold back his disappointment over his son’s recent outburst on X (formerly Twitter), where Elon made the incendiary—and widely debunked—claim that President Trump was listed in the FBI’s Epstein files. The now-deleted post read:

“Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”

“I have no idea what he was thinking… I can only imagine that’s just a silly mistake,” Errol said, speculating that Elon had likely cracked under pressure.

Legal experts and individuals close to both Epstein and Trump swiftly dismantled Musk’s claim. David Schoen, Epstein’s own attorney at the time of his death, categorically denied any connection between Trump and Epstein’s alleged crimes.

“I can say authoritatively, unequivocally, and definitively that [Epstein] had no information to hurt President Trump,” Schoen declared on X. “I specifically asked him!”

Even Michael Cohen, Trump’s embattled former personal attorney and no friend to the president, backed the truth.

“To the best of my knowledge and everything that I know, it’s not true,” Cohen said on MSNBC.

Despite the public spat, sources suggest there may be hope for a behind-the-scenes truce. Politico reported Sunday that aides for both Musk and President Trump have been engaged in quiet talks since Friday, attempting to stabilize the relationship.

“He’s stopped posting, but that doesn’t mean he’s happy,” a White House official told Politico regarding Trump’s silence on the matter via Truth Social. “The future of their relationship is totally uncertain.”

While the back-and-forth has grown heated—Musk even went as far as to suggest Trump should be impeached—Errol Musk says he expects both men to eventually find common ground, despite their alpha egos.

“When people have been through a great deal of stress… eventually people reach a point where they lash out,” he said. “Even at the highest levels, people struggle to find common ground.”

The irony? Elon once called his father a “terrible human being.” But this time, the elder Musk might be the voice of reason—reminding his son that taking a swing at America’s 47th president might not be the hill to die on.
