Erika Kirk ‘Shaken’ After Jezebel’s Curse Stunt Just Days Before Husband’s Assassination

Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative leader Charlie Kirk, revealed that she was left “genuinely rattled” when the far-left feminist site Jezebel published a disturbing article boasting about paying witches to curse her husband—just two days before his tragic assassination.

The shocking piece, posted on Sept. 8, described Kirk as a “far-right misogynist” and detailed how the unnamed author purchased “multiple curses” against him on Etsy, targeting him for what she called “years of regressive rhetoric.”

Only 48 hours later, Tyler Robinson, 22, allegedly gunned down Charlie Kirk as he spoke before thousands at Utah Valley University during the kickoff of his American Comeback Tour. Kirk, just 31 years old, was fatally shot in the neck.

Megyn Kelly Blasts Jezebel and Etsy

Top-rated SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly condemned the outlet for publishing what she called a “vile” stunt that left the Kirks shaken and seeking spiritual protection the night before Charlie’s death.

“This is what I want you all, and the people at Jezebel and Etsy, to know,” Kelly said on her Wednesday show.

“Erika and Charlie Kirk heard about these curses and that news genuinely rattled Erika, in particular. She knew Christian teaching on the subject, she loved Charlie, absolutely, and she was scared when she heard of the curses Jezebel had culled up,” Kelly continued.

Kelly did not hold back her outrage:
“Why torture a family like this, a Christian believing family? Why do this vile thing to a young couple, parents to two babies living in accordance with the gospel, deeply in love, and yes, political, but doing nothing other than speaking publicly about their views and their desires to make other people’s lives better. Who would do such a vile thing? Jezebel, that’s who, and unbelievably, Etsy. And the people behind this evil should be called out.”

The New York Post reported that Jezebel later added an editor’s note condemning the assassination and eventually took down the article. But the damage had been done.

Kelly went further, urging Jezebel to shut down, demanding that the author be identified, and calling on Etsy to ban the sale of curses and return to “arts and crafts and jewelry.”

“Both entities should issue an immediate full-throated apology to Erika Kirk for introducing this awfulness into her beautiful family and causing her or Charlie any distress whatsoever in what would be the waning hours of his life,” Kelly said.

Erika Kirk’s Final Goodbye

In a heartbreaking interview with The New York Times, Erika shared painful details of her husband’s final moments. Law enforcement advised her not to view Charlie’s body due to the extent of the wounds, but she refused.

“With all due respect, I want to see what they did to my husband,” she told them.

At the hospital, she leaned down to kiss him goodbye. His “semi-open eyes” and “Mona Lisa-like half-smile” stayed with her forever.

“He’d died happy,” Erika said. “Like Jesus rescued him. The bullet came, he blinked, and he was in heaven.”

Since his death, Erika admitted she has not been able to sleep in their bedroom, moving from place to place, holding on to the smallest reminders of him—even refusing to wash the towels from his final shower.

The night before Charlie’s trip, the couple prayed over his upcoming tour with a faith leader. Erika and a close friend raised concerns about his safety after a year of escalating death threats, urging him to consider protective measures. Erika begged him to wear a bulletproof vest. A friend suggested speaking behind bulletproof glass.

Charlie declined.

“Not yet,” he told them.

Charlie Kirk, a close ally of President Trump and a champion for conservative youth, left behind not only a movement but also a grieving family now navigating life without him.
