‘FAKE BS’ — JD Vance Slams Media During White House Cabinet Meeting
Vice President JD Vance strongly criticized mainstream media outlets during a cabinet meeting at the White House, accusing them of spreading “fake BS” in attempts to discredit President Donald Trump and his team.
Speaking at the meeting led by President Trump, Vance highlighted the administration’s early accomplishments in its first 100 days and directly addressed the reporters in the room.
“Why is it that the press so focused on the fake BS rather than what’s really going on in the country. It think that what we’ve shown sir is that you can do a lot in 100 days, but you’ve also unfortunately revealed that too much of the American media hasn’t learned the lesson of the past four years,” said Vance.
Seated directly across from Trump, Vance made a light-hearted remark about his age that prompted laughter among attendees.
“At the risk of insulting everybody else at the table, I believe that I am the youngest member sitting at the table,” he said, pointing out that the U.S. had experienced sharp declines in wealth and prosperity over the past four decades.
He continued by criticizing America’s reliance on China for manufacturing, contrasting it with past economic strength: “We went from the world’s manufacturing superpower to one in which we depend on the People’s Republic of China to make the things that we need. What has happened in 100 days is that we’ve started to reverse every single one of these negative trends.”
Vance further contrasted Trump’s leadership style with that of past presidents, calling his predecessors “placeholders” and referencing former President Joe Biden’s use of an autopen. In contrast, he praised Trump as a “man of action.”
A Marine veteran, Vance also applauded renewed interest in military service since Trump took office: “That’s a story you guys should cover, but compared to that how many times have you instead focused on the fact that we deported an MS-13 gang member?” he asked reporters.
President Trump allowed media access for two hours during the meeting, during which each cabinet member discussed their respective achievements over the last 100 days.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio, seated to Trump’s right, mentioned uncovering a “dossier” produced by the State Department during the Biden administration that was intended to track “disinformation” related to someone at the meeting.
“Was it me or Elon?” Vance joked, prompting laughter from the group.

Trump’s approval rating has surged despite backlash from Democrats, establishment Republicans, and the media in response to recent aggressive trade measures.
A survey conducted by J.L. Partners in partnership with the Daily Mail, polling 1,000 registered voters between March 31 and April 3, showed that Trump’s approval rose following the implementation of sweeping tariffs on April 2.
The data revealed that Trump’s approval rating climbed to 53 percent—an increase of four points compared to the previous week’s 49 percent. The Daily Mail described this jump as “surprising,” particularly given the recent stock market volatility and political criticism.
Further analysis revealed notable gains among younger voters. Support from those aged 18 to 29 jumped by 13 points since March 7. This comes after the same age group shifted 10 points toward Trump in the November election, having largely supported Joe Biden in 2020.
The survey also showed Trump gaining traction among Democrats and independents, with a six-point boost in support. Among Black voters, his favorability rose by 17 points compared to the previous week’s numbers.
