FBI Foils Potential Halloween Terror Plot in Michigan — Multiple Suspects Arrested

Federal agents under the leadership of FBI Director Kash Patel have thwarted a potential terrorist attack in Michigan, making multiple arrests connected to an alleged plot targeting Halloween weekend.

“This morning the FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple subjects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween weekend. More details to come,” Patel posted on X.

Patel praised the agents involved, writing, “Thanks to the men and women of FBI and law enforcement everywhere standing guard 24/7 and crushing our mission to defend the homeland.”

According to Fox News, Patel confirmed the arrests concluded a multi-agency investigation involving federal and local partners.

“Through swift action and close coordination with our local partners, a potential act of terror was stopped before it could unfold,” Patel said.

He added that the quick work of the bureau prevented what could have been “a tragic attack,” ensuring Michigan families “a safe and happy Halloween.”

FBI Operations in Dearborn and Inkster

Local reports from NBC News confirmed that police in Dearborn, Michigan, had been informed of the FBI’s activity early Friday morning.

“The Dearborn Police Department has been made aware that the FBI conducted operations in the City of Dearborn earlier this morning,” police said in a statement.

Authorities emphasized that there was no ongoing threat to the public. FBI operations were also confirmed in the nearby city of Inkster, according to Jordan Hall, a representative of the bureau’s Detroit Field Office, though no further details were provided.

Dearborn, a Detroit suburb, has long been considered a community of concern for federal counterterrorism monitoring due to previous extremist activity in the region.

Leadership Response from Patel and Bongino

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino praised the agents’ work and reaffirmed the bureau’s mission.

“This is what real law enforcement looks like — proactive, relentless, and focused on saving lives,” Bongino said, according to Fox News.
“Our agents and partners in Michigan acted fast, followed the evidence, and stopped a threat before anyone got hurt. Under the leadership of Director Patel and the watch of this FBI, America is a safer place.”

Bongino reiterated that “Protecting the Homeland is our top priority. We will not rest,” emphasizing the renewed federal focus on domestic safety under President Donald J. Trump’s administration.

As of Friday morning, the FBI has not released specific details regarding the suspects or the nature of the planned attack, but the bureau has promised further updates as the investigation unfolds.
