Federal Agents Open Fire After Being Trapped Near Chicago ICE Facility

Federal immigration officers were ambushed early Friday morning outside a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Broadview, Illinois, in what officials are calling a coordinated assault by anti-ICE agitators.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, multiple vehicles rammed and boxed in federal agents during routine patrols near the facility. Trapped inside their cars, officers were forced to exit on foot — only to face an armed attacker brandishing a semi-automatic weapon.

Law enforcement responded with defensive fire, striking the suspect, who then drove herself to a hospital for treatment. DHS later confirmed that the woman had been flagged just last week in a U.S. Customs and Border Protection intelligence bulletin for doxing agents online and encouraging violence: “Hey to all my gang let’s fk those mother fers up, don’t let them take anyone.”*

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin praised the agents’ response and blasted Illinois officials for refusing to help:

“Our brave law enforcement officers were rammed by vehicles and boxed in by 10 cars… Thankfully, no law enforcement officers were seriously injured in this attack.
Pritzker’s Chicago Police Department is leaving the shooting scene and refuses to assist us in securing the area. There is a growing crowd and we are deploying special operations to control the scene.”

The attack is the latest in a string of violent demonstrations outside the Broadview ICE facility, where far-left protesters have clashed with officers, blocked vehicles, and vandalized federal property for weeks.

Despite repeated assaults, prominent Democrat-aligned activists — including Evanston Mayor Daniel Biss and progressive organizer Kat Abughazaleh — have been spotted at the demonstrations, at times blocking federal vehicles. Legal experts note that such actions could constitute federal felonies for obstructing law enforcement.

Officials say protesters have hurled rocks, slashed tires, and swarmed agents. Federal officers have been forced to respond with non-lethal measures like tear gas and rubber bullets, though they remain routinely outnumbered.

To stabilize the situation, DHS has deployed reinforcements from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and U.S. Border Patrol. Even Border Patrol commander Gregory Bovino personally helped clear rioters from the main entrance last weekend.

Still, protests resumed almost immediately — a sign, officials say, of escalating hostility driven by open encouragement from the activist left.

The female suspect remains hospitalized in undisclosed condition. Federal authorities stress that this was not an isolated incident, but part of a dangerous trend of increasingly violent, organized attacks on DHS and ICE facilities across the country.

For now, Broadview remains on lockdown — with federal agents facing nightly mobs while Chicago’s leadership looks the other way.
