Fighter Jets Intercept Aircraft Violating Airspace Over Trump’s Bedminster Estate
The U.S. Air Force confirmed that six separate violations of restricted airspace occurred over Bedminster, New Jersey, while President Donald Trump was staying at his residence this past weekend.
One of those incidents escalated to the point that North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) deployed fighter jets to intercept a rogue aircraft, according to Newsweek.
Multiple Breaches in Presidential Airspace
Military officials emphasized that unauthorized flights over presidential residences are not just careless mistakes — they pose direct risks to both national security and the safety of the Commander-in-Chief. Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) are mandatory protections, and repeated violations are raising alarms among defense experts.
The Air Force reported that two incursions took place on Saturday, including a 1:55 p.m. incident that required immediate NORAD intervention. Fighter jets were dispatched and deployed warning flares to gain the pilot’s attention. The service stressed that the maneuver was conducted “with the utmost regard for the safety of the intercepted aircraft and people on the ground.”
Four more violations were recorded Sunday, bringing the total to six over the weekend.
“Six general aviation aircraft violated Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) airspace over Bedminster, New Jersey. In addition to two unauthorized incursions yesterday, including one requiring an intercept by North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) fighter aircraft, there were four violations today,” the Air Force announced in a statement.
On X, the Air Force issued a stark reminder to private pilots:
“Attention, Aviators! There have been six TFR violations near Bedminster, NJ this weekend. Check NOTAMS before EVERY flight. Stay Safe, Fly Informed!”

"...Bringing the total to 4 unauthorized incursions over the course of Saturday and Sunday."
Pray President Trump remains safe.🙏
A Pattern of Dangerous Negligence
This is not the first time Bedminster airspace has been compromised. On July 6, eleven aircraft violated the same restricted zone. F-16s were scrambled to intercept several of those planes, performing aggressive “headbutt” maneuvers — cutting directly in front of the violating aircraft — to force the pilots’ compliance, New York Post reported.
NORAD continues to rely on its layered defense system of radars, satellites, and fighter jets to detect and neutralize potential threats. Yet the frequency of these violations raises serious questions about enforcement and accountability.
Trump Honors Fallen Friend Charlie Kirk
While these security concerns played out above his New Jersey residence, President Trump was also mourning the tragic assassination of his close friend Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA. Kirk was gunned down last week during a campus event at Utah Valley University.
The president revealed he spoke with Erika Kirk, Charlie’s widow, describing her grief as “devastated.”
“I spoke to Erika, his wife. And we had a long talk,” Trump said. “And she’s devastated. She is absolutely devastated, as you can imagine.”
President Trump added that he has an “indication” of the shooter’s motive but stopped short of revealing specifics, only noting that there have been “rapid developments” in the investigation. Authorities have since arrested Tyler Robinson, 22, in connection with the killing.
Earlier in the day, the president announced that Kirk would receive the nation’s highest civilian honor.
“Charlie was a giant of his generation, a champion of liberty and an inspiration to millions and millions of people,” Trump declared. “I’m pleased to announce that I will soon be awarding Charlie Kirk posthumously the Presidential Medal of Freedom.”
