Five Christians Murdered in Targeted Church Attack as Global War on Christianity Intensifies
In yet another horrifying act of anti-Christian violence, five believers were murdered during a Bible study session at a church in northwest Nigeria — a brutal reminder of the escalating war on Christianity unfolding across the globe.
The attack occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Friday at the Evangelical Church Winning All, located in Kampani village, Kajuru County of Kaduna State. According to Christian Daily International–Morning Star News, armed men stormed the church, executing five attendees in cold blood and wounding three others.
The victims were identified by locals as Victor Haruna, Dogara Jatau, Luka Yari, Jesse Dalami, and Bawu John. Those injured were named as Samuel Aliyu, Philip Dominic, and Jacob Hussaini.
“This is the present predicament of most communities within Kajuru and Kachia Local Council Areas in southern part of Kaduna state,” local resident Happiness Daniel wrote in a message to Morning Star News. “We constantly live in fear every day. We can’t sleep in our homes and we can’t go to farms.”
This latest massacre is part of a disturbing pattern. Islamist militants — predominantly Muslim Fulani — have been relentlessly targeting Christian communities in the region. Just this year, over 110 Christians have been abducted from Kajuru County alone.
On June 28, Fulani militants abducted Obadiah Iguda, the village head of Bauda in Kufana District, at around 1 a.m. “This senseless act of violence has further deepened the atmosphere of insecurity and fear among the residents of Bauda and its surrounding communities,” said community leader Stephen Maikori.
Earlier this year, on March 12, Fulani jihadists raided multiple villages — including Unguwan Yashi, Makyali, and Ungwan Mudi Doka — kidnapping at least 10 Christians. On the same day, they murdered a pastor and kidnapped 30 others.
“It’s with so much pain in my heart to intimate you about the constant attacks on our peace-loving communities by armed Muslim Fulani terrorists,” said local source Jonah Dodo.
This is not an isolated crisis. The Christian persecution watchdog Open Doors ranks Nigeria among the most dangerous places on Earth for Christians. Their 2025 World Watch List reveals that out of 4,476 Christians killed globally for their faith, 3,100 — nearly 70% — were slaughtered in Nigeria.
Other nations where Christianity is under siege include North Korea, Myanmar, Sudan, Yemen, and Kyrgyzstan — countries where open worship of Jesus Christ is met with violence, imprisonment, or death.
According to Open Doors, the persecution doesn’t stop at bloodshed. In India alone, 1,629 Christians were detained without trial and another 547 were imprisoned during the most recent reporting period. Believers in Eritrea, Bangladesh, and Iran are also suffering under tyrannical regimes that view the Gospel as a threat to their power.
While the West obsesses over pronouns and imagined microaggressions, the global Christian community is being hunted, silenced, and slaughtered. And the silence from so-called human rights organizations and international leaders is deafening.
