Former Voice of America Staffer Accused of Threatening Taylor Greene’s Life

A longtime government media employee has been arrested and charged after allegedly threatening to murder Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, her congressional staff, and their families in a string of chilling phone calls made from inside a federal agency.

According to the Department of Justice, 64-year-old Seth Jason of Edgewater, Maryland—an employee of the taxpayer-funded Voice of America—made at least eight violent, hate-filled threats between October 2023 and January 2024. Federal prosecutors say the calls were laced with graphic threats, including one where Jason vowed to shoot Rep. Greene “between the eyes” with an AK-47.

“I’m looking forward to your book signing. We are all armed and ready to take care of you,” Jason said in one voicemail to the Georgia congresswoman, according to the New York Post.
“We’re coming after you and your staff, and we are locked and loaded. We’re going to take you all out. We’ve got our AK-47s. You’re going to get one between the eyes. Bam, bam, bam.”

Prosecutors say the threats came from multiple phone lines within studios and control rooms at Voice of America headquarters—raising serious concerns about the misuse of federal facilities for politically motivated violence.

Jason was arrested Thursday by U.S. Capitol Police with assistance from the Anne Arundel County Police Department. Ironically, Jason had volunteered with the same Maryland department since 2016 as a reserve officer. AACPD confirmed his arrest and stated that he is no longer affiliated with the department.

His LinkedIn profile shows he began working at Voice of America in 2001. The federally funded broadcaster, once intended to share America's message abroad, has drawn heavy criticism in recent years for its leftward lurch and growing hostility toward conservative voices. President Donald J. Trump ordered the outlet shut down earlier this year, branding it “The Voice of Radical America.”

“You threaten a public official, and you face the full force of the law crushing down on you,” Interim D.C. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro declared. “There will be no mercy and no excuses.”

Jason has been charged with four federal crimes, including threatening a federal official directly and through family, making interstate threats, and using telecommunications for anonymous harassment. If convicted, he faces up to 27 years in prison.

The arrest comes amid a pattern of escalating threats and harassment directed at conservative lawmakers—particularly women like Greene, who remain among the most vocal defenders of President Trump’s America First agenda.

While radical activists and bureaucrats are protected by establishment media and left-wing prosecutors, conservatives who speak plainly about government overreach, cultural decay, and election integrity are often vilified and targeted for censorship or worse.

Rep. Greene, unfazed, continues her mission. Though speculation swirled recently about a possible U.S. Senate run in Georgia against Democrat Jon Ossoff, she firmly denied it, declaring that the Senate “doesn’t work anymore.”

In a powerful post on X, Greene wrote:

“I love my home state of Georgia so much. The people here may not be rich with the world’s riches, but they are overflowing with kindness, love, family values, and a deep sense of joy, whether they’re sitting on the front porch or the tailgate of a pickup truck... These are the people I fight for.”

She also took aim at the GOP establishment, mocking the “ultra-rich Kemp donors” meeting on Sea Island to plot their next Senate candidate.

“These are the same elites who scoffed at me when I first ran for Congress in 2020. But I beat eight well-funded male opponents in the primary and crushed the establishment’s handpicked neurosurgeon in the runoff. And I’ll be blunt: the elites don’t speak for the people of Georgia who would walk through fire for President Trump.”
