Hungary Blasts Biden’s Approval For Ukraine To Hit Russia With US Missiles
Hungary has issued a stark warning, claiming that the U.S. decision to supply Ukraine with long-range missiles capable of striking deep into Russian territory risks escalating the conflict to a global scale.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó expressed grave concerns in a Facebook post, calling the move by the Biden administration “extremely dangerous” and a step toward intensifying the crisis.
Szijjártó criticized what he referred to as “pro-war forces” in the U.S., accusing them of ignoring public sentiment favoring peace. “The pro-war mainstream has launched a final, desperate attack on the new reality,” he wrote, cautioning that the U.S. decision could provoke a global conflict.
He also condemned U.S. lawmakers, describing the decision as “undemocratic” and out of step with the growing desire for a resolution to the war.
Last week, President Joe Biden approved Ukraine’s use of U.S.-supplied missiles to strike targets within Russian territory, raising fears of further escalation ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s upcoming inauguration.
This decision comes as reports suggest Ukrainian troops are operating within Russia’s Kursk region following incursions in early August. According to Politico, these forces are expected to face significant resistance from a joint offensive by Russian and North Korean troops.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump Jr. took to X (formerly Twitter) to criticize the decision, accusing the military-industrial complex of fueling chaos for financial gain.
“The Military Industrial Complex seems to want to make sure they get World War 3 going before my father has a chance to create peace and save lives. Gotta lock in those $Trillions. Life be damned!!! Imbeciles!” he posted.
Joe Rogan, the popular podcaster and UFC commentator, also condemned the move during an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience on Friday. Rogan warned that the United States, under Biden’s leadership, might be on a trajectory toward World War III before Trump takes office.
Discussing the situation with his guest, record producer Scott Storch, Rogan expressed unease. “What I don’t feel safer [about] is right now they’re launching missiles into Russia,” Rogan said. “How are you allowed to do that when you’re on the way out? Like the people don’t want you to be there anymore. This should be some sort of a pause for significant actions that could potentially start World War III. Maybe that would be a good thing that we would like to avoid from a dying former president. The whole thing is nuts.”
Rogan also addressed Russia’s retaliatory launch of a conventionally armed ICBM with multiple warheads targeting Ukrainian infrastructure last week.
“Zelensky says Putin is terrified. Fk you, man. Fk you people. You fking people are about to start World War III,” Rogan exclaimed. “Fking insanity because those intercontinental ballistic missiles can have nukes on them. This didn’t, but if it does, the whole world changes—and it changes because of the military-industrial complex and the money flowing to Ukraine. It changes because the outgoing president, or whoever the fk is actually running the country, has decided to do something fking insane.”
Shortly after his election victory, President-elect Trump reportedly reached out to both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“As President Trump has said on the campaign trail, he is the only person who can bring both sides together in order to negotiate peace and work towards ending the war and stopping the killing,” Trump communications director Steven Cheung told the New York Post.
