Jasmine Crockett In Danger Of Losing Seat to Texas Redistricting

Texas Republicans have introduced a bold redistricting proposal that could give the Lone Star State as many as five additional GOP seats in Congress — and one of the most vocal Democrats in the state, Rep. Jasmine Crockett, isn’t taking it well.

The newly unveiled map aims to restore balance in a state long hamstrung by Democrat gerrymandering, redrawing district lines to better reflect Texas’s increasingly conservative electorate. Rep. Crockett, a far-left firebrand who represents much of Dallas in the 30th District, immediately cried foul.

“This is a power grab to silence voters,” Crockett complained, seemingly unaware that blue states like California and New York have gerrymandered Republicans into oblivion for years without a peep of concern from her party.

But make no mistake: Crockett’s outrage isn’t about “voter suppression.” It’s about preserving her safe seat and silencing Texans who want their voices heard through fairer representation.

The updated congressional map would also place two Democrat incumbents — Lloyd Doggett and Greg Casar — into the same district, setting up an inevitable primary brawl. Expect more infighting from a party unaccustomed to losing its iron grip on urban districts.

House Democrat Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), who represents no one in Texas, predictably flew in to wag his finger at the state’s Republican leadership, calling the plan an “all-hands-on-deck moment.”

“We will fight them in court, we will fight them politically…” Jeffries declared — stopping just short of quoting Churchill, as if redistricting laws he disagrees with are some kind of constitutional crisis.

Jeffries made the bizarre claim that “corporations and universities are falling in line with what the Trump administration demands” — a fantasy-world delusion, given that both institutions are among the most left-wing and Trump-hostile forces in the country.

While Democrats rage about the Texas GOP's attempt to better align congressional districts with the state’s actual voters, they remain silent on their own gerrymandering sins.

  • In California, Republicans represent less than 25% of congressional seats despite making up over 40% of registered voters.
  • In New York, Democrats have used redistricting to try and eliminate GOP representation entirely in some regions.

So much for "protecting democracy."

In a now-familiar stunt, Texas Democrats are once again fleeing the state to Illinois in protest — not to represent their constituents, but to block the quorum needed to conduct business in Austin.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, never one to pass up a virtue-signaling opportunity, welcomed the fleeing lawmakers and pledged to "protect" them from… doing their jobs.

“They’re here in Illinois. We’re going to do everything we can to protect every single one of them,” Pritzker said, before launching into a rant about how Texas AG Ken Paxton is the real lawbreaker.

Let’s be clear: Texas Democrats are actively obstructing their own Legislature, ignoring the will of Texas voters, and running to blue-state safe havens when they don’t get their way.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has called a special session to finalize the new map, and it’s already cleared a key House panel. If approved, the redistricting plan could reshape Texas’s delegation in Washington for a generation.

President Trump has backed the redistricting effort, encouraging Republicans to stand firm and end Democrats’ monopolistic grip on urban districts.
