Jen Psaki's Reaction to Catholic School Shooting Likened to 'How an Actual Demon Would Respond'

While families mourned the loss of two children killed during morning Mass at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, MSNBC host Jen Psaki used the tragedy as a political weapon.

Witnesses say the shooter fired “50 to 100 shots” through the stained-glass windows into the church while children prayed. “He just pepper-sprayed through the stained-glass windows into the building,” one parent told the Minnesota Star-Tribune.

Psaki, a former Biden press secretary and now left-wing television host, dismissed the faithful response of prayer in a social media post, writing: “Prayer is not freaking enough. Prayers does not end school shootings. prayers do not make parents feel safe sending their kids to school. Prayer does not bring these kids back. Enough with the thoughts and prayers.”

Her mockery of faith drew immediate backlash. Sean Davis, CEO and co-founder of The Federalist, responded: “Ask yourself how an actual demon would respond to Christian children being martyred by a demon-possessed monster. Probably with explicit mockery of God and prayer. Then ask yourself why Psaki’s response is exactly how an actual demon would respond.”

Amber Duke, senior editor at the Daily Caller, also condemned Psaki’s comments: “You don’t understand prayer and what it’s for so kindly keep your bigoted thoughts to yourself until you can circle back with something more intelligent to say.”

Interestingly, Psaki’s words echoed those of Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, who also urged people to move beyond prayer. Speaking with visible emotion, Frey said: “Don’t just say this is about thoughts and prayers right now. These kids were literally praying. It was the first week of school. They were in a church.”

At least the mayor did acknowledge the obvious, stating: “This kind of act of evil should never happen, and it happens far too often.” But both Psaki and Frey quickly pivoted toward calls for gun control.

The alleged shooter—23-year-old Robin Westman, formerly known as Robert Westman—was reportedly a deeply disturbed, possibly transgender individual who left behind an 11-minute YouTube video. Conservative commentator Charlie Kirk revealed chilling details from the material: “The suspect wrote notes on the weapons he used including ‘Kill Trump Now!,’ ‘McVeigh,’ ‘Where is Your God?,’ ‘Burn Israel’ and ‘6 million was not enough.’ He had a human-shaped target with Jesus’s face attached to it.”

The shooter’s intent was clear: hatred toward Christianity, hostility toward President Trump, and contempt for human life. Even without firearms, such an individual was bent on destruction.

The spiritual stakes could not be higher. As Scripture teaches, “Thou shalt not murder.” Jesus instructed His followers to pray, “Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” The devil, by contrast, thrives when people abandon prayer in despair—exactly the counsel Psaki and other Democrats are offering.

President Donald Trump responded as a leader should: he called the nation to prayer for the victims and ordered flags at the White House lowered to half-staff.

Sean Davis was right: the enemy of faith would prefer nothing more than for Christians to forsake prayer in the aftermath of evil. The correct response is exactly the opposite—pray harder, cling to God, and stand firm against those who sneer at His name.
