Just In: Karoline Leavitt Accepts New Job at Fox News
Former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is taking her defense of President Donald Trump’s agenda to Fox News, joining the network as an on-air contributor beginning Nov. 1.
Fox announced the appointment Monday, giving one of Trump’s most recognizable advocates a new platform shortly before the midterm elections. Leavitt is expected to appear across both news and opinion programming, according to The New York Times.
The 29-year-old stepped down in August after serving as the president’s chief spokeswoman since the beginning of his second administration. Her departure followed the birth of her second child and a decision to devote more time to her young family.

She now lives in New Hampshire with her family, the newspaper reported.
Leavitt had made clear that leaving the White House would not end her public support for Trump or the Republican Party. The Fox position provides a way to remain involved in the political debate after stepping away from the demands of daily White House service.
Announcing her resignation on X two months ago, Leavitt reflected on the experience of representing the president while raising young children.
“Serving as the White House Press Secretary over the past year and a half has been the honor and adventure of a lifetime,” she wrote.
She described motherhood alongside one of Washington’s most demanding jobs as both rewarding and difficult. Ultimately, she said she could not give her two children the attention they deserved while also meeting the position’s constant demands.
Trump responded by praising her service and indicating that she would remain close to his political operation as one of his leading outside advisers.
“Our wonderful White House Press Secretary, and one of my most trusted aides,” Trump wrote in his statement announcing her departure.

He also said she would continue to be an influential voice within the Republican Party.
Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott pointed to Leavitt’s experience on the campaign trail and inside the administration in explaining the hire.
Speaking to The New York Times on Monday, Scott said that background gives Leavitt a distinct understanding of the political landscape. She said the former press secretary would bring her own “unique perspective and candor” to the network.
Leavitt follows Kayleigh McEnany as the second former Trump White House press secretary to join Fox News.

Her appointment brings the network another contributor with direct experience communicating the president’s policies and responding to the controversies surrounding his administration.
For Leavitt, the move marks a new chapter that keeps her in public life after choosing to put her family first.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue appearing on Fox News Channel as an official member of the extraordinary team at Fox News Media,” Leavitt said.
