Kash Patel Announces Arrest Of Top Democrat Staffer In Major Scandal
A bombshell case involving pandemic profiteering, foreign influence, and political corruption is sending shockwaves through the Empire State — and FBI Director Kash Patel isn’t mincing words about where the blame lies.
Former New York political aide Linda Sun, who previously worked under both disgraced Governor Andrew Cuomo and current Governor Kathy Hochul, is now facing explosive bribery charges tied to a fraudulent PPE operation — one that prosecutors say funneled millions into her pockets and served Communist China’s interests at the height of the COVID-19 crisis.
“While Americans were locked down and desperate for PPE, Linda Sun and Chris Hu cashed in – allegedly lining their pockets while serving CCP interests,” Patel wrote on X. “This is corruption that endangered lives. The FBI will not tolerate public officials who sell out their country.”

View PlansSun, alongside her husband Chris Hu, is accused of orchestrating a kickback scheme worth up to $8 million, exploiting her government position to steer lucrative COVID-era equipment contracts to Chinese-linked vendors — including a company owned by her cousin.
Worse still, Sun now faces additional charges for secretly working as an unregistered agent of the Chinese Communist Party, a national betrayal that is raising serious alarm within the Trump administration and national security circles.
The scandal traces back to early 2020, when Sun was tasked with sourcing personal protective equipment for New York State as hospitals and first responders struggled with shortages. But according to federal prosecutors, she rigged the selection process, falsifying procurement documents and replacing recommended suppliers from the Jiangsu Department of Commerce with her cousin’s company — then altered the language to describe those masks as “the gold standard.”
Between 2020 and 2021, that vendor kicked back $2.3 million, and investigators discovered a spreadsheet on Hu’s computer labeled simply “Me” — outlining an $8 million profit goal from the scam.
Sun’s arrest in September for acting as an unregistered foreign agent for China was already a major black eye for the Cuomo-Hochul machine. But this week’s new charges — bribery, wire fraud, conspiracy, and honest services fraud — elevate the case to one of the most severe examples of pandemic-era corruption yet.
Her husband now faces separate charges for laundering the money through accounts under a relative’s name. Taken together, the charges paint a damning portrait of foreign infiltration, political betrayal, and personal greed at a time when everyday Americans were being locked down and left to suffer.
This isn’t the only national security breach linked to Communist China that Director Patel and the FBI are handling.
Earlier this month, the FBI announced charges against two Chinese nationals — Yunqing Jian, 33, and Zunyong Liu, 34 — for smuggling a deadly crop-destroying fungus into the United States. Known as Fusarium graminearum, the fungus is classified as a potential agroterrorism weapon, capable of devastating American agriculture, especially corn, rice, and barley crops.
“These two aliens have been charged with smuggling a fungus that has been described as a ‘potential agroterrorism weapon’ into the heartland of America,” U.S. Attorney Jerome F. Gorgon Jr. said.
“The alleged actions of these Chinese nationals — including a loyal member of the Chinese Communist Party — are of the gravest national security concerns,” he added.
Court documents reveal that one suspect attempted to bring the fungus into the U.S. by hiding it in his backpack while entering the country — a clear violation of visa protocols and a threat that raises alarms across the intelligence community.

View PlansWhile legacy media may gloss over these disturbing facts, the pattern is becoming harder to ignore: CCP-linked operatives, embedded in high places, using America’s openness against it — often aided by compromised political insiders.
With the FBI, under Director Patel, taking a hard stance on rooting out CCP influence and political corruption, the Trump administration is once again proving that America First isn’t just a slogan — it’s a survival strategy.
