Kimmel Breaks Record on First Episode Back - Tells 4 Lies About Kirk Murder Fallout in Less Than 60 Seconds
“Comedian” Jimmy Kimmel returned to Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week after a six-day suspension, but instead of apologizing for his false and inflammatory comments about Charlie Kirk’s assassination, he doubled down with excuses and half-truths.
As a reminder, ABC pulled the late-night program off the air after Kimmel falsely claimed that a member of the “MAGA gang” murdered Kirk. In reality, the assassin — Tyler Robinson — was a self-described leftist who openly criticized Kirk’s conservative politics and confessed his crime in a text message to his transgender boyfriend.
Kimmel’s Shameless Spin
On Tuesday’s show, Kimmel insisted that he never meant to trivialize Kirk’s death or pin the blame on a Trump supporter:
“It was never my intention to make light of the murder of a young man,” Kimmel told his audience. He went on to say that it was “never [his] intention to blame any specific group” and that Kirk’s assassin was simply “a sick person who believed violence was a solution.”
Jimmy Kimmel returns to the air for the first time since his cancellation...and breaks down in tears as he tries to clarify his comments about Charlie Kirk.

But viewers who remember his September 15 broadcast know better. That night, Kimmel sneered at conservatives, saying:
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”
In other words, Kimmel directly accused Trump supporters of responsibility — a narrative that was flatly false.
Affiliates Still Refuse to Air Him
While ABC reinstated the show, not everyone welcomed Kimmel back. Sinclair Broadcast Group and Nexstar Media Group — which together operate roughly a quarter of ABC affiliates nationwide — announced they will continue preempting his program, citing his offensive remarks.
This boycott underscores the growing backlash against the Disney-owned late-night host, whose ratings have long been sliding.
A Show Without Value
Instead of showing humility or contrition, Kimmel attempted to appear somber, even faking tears during his monologue. But no apology ever came.
The facts remain clear:
- Kimmel did try to downplay Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
- He did blame Trump supporters for it.
- His intent was to smear conservatives.
- The killer was, in fact, motivated by left-wing ideology.
Kimmel’s act is tired, his show adds nothing meaningful to political or cultural discourse, and his audience has dwindled right alongside his credibility.
“No Talent, No Ratings” Kimmel isn’t just unfunny — he’s unfit for the platform ABC continues to give him.
