Kristi Noem Calls Out CBS News, Brings Receipts Showing Network 'Shamefully' Edited Her Kilmar Abrego Garcia Comments
Is CBS News once again playing fast and loose with the truth? That’s the question many conservatives are asking after the network was caught deceptively editing another high-profile Republican figure this past weekend.
The embattled outlet — which only recently paid a hefty settlement to President Donald Trump after deceptively editing a rambling campaign question from then–Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 election — is under fire again. This time, its target was Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
Appearing on Face the Nation Sunday, Noem addressed the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadorian national often described by the media as a “Maryland man.” She assured Americans that the Biden-era deportee would not be allowed back into the country. However, CBS edited out her explanation of why the deportation was justified.
This morning, I joined CBS to report the facts about Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Instead, CBS shamefully edited the interview to whitewash the truth about this MS-13 gang member and the threat he poses to American public safety.

Abrego Garcia’s case has been weaponized by the Left as supposed evidence that the Trump administration was deporting “innocent” migrants — with progressive commentators even invoking comparisons to Argentina under Videla or Pinochet’s Chile. But the reality is far different. Records show Abrego Garcia faced a deportation order along with arrests and reports linking him to gang activity, human trafficking, and domestic abuse.
Yet viewers who tuned into Face the Nation only heard this selective clip from Noem:
“And the one thing that we will continue to do is to make sure that he doesn’t walk free in the United States of America.”
Noem later blasted the network for its editing, writing on X:
“shamefully edited the interview to whitewash the truth about this MS-13 gang member and the threat he poses to American public safety.”
After CBS aired its edited version, Noem laid out the full case against Abrego Garcia in detail:
“This individual was a known human smuggler, a MS-13 gang member, an individual who was a wife-beater, and someone who was so perverted that he solicited nude photos from minors,” she said.
“And even his fellow human traffickers told him to knock it off, he was so sick in what he was doing and how he was treating small children.
So he needs to never be in the United States of America. And our administration is making sure we’re doing all that we can to bring him to justice.”
While the allegations against Abrego Garcia still await their day in court, what’s indisputable is that CBS chose to suppress them. Once again, the mainstream media’s narrative trumped the facts.
This is hardly the first time CBS has been caught manipulating content. Just two months ago, its parent company quietly shelled out $16 million to the Trump presidential library to settle a lawsuit over its deceptive Harris edit. That case was brought under a Texas fraud statute, breaking new legal ground and exposing the network’s bias.

CBS is now claiming the latest edit was due to “time limitations.” But even insiders aren’t buying it. A source told the New York Post:
“You have to watch the video. A lot of ‘word salad.’ Feels like a clean up on Aisle 7. Not a technical foul but one could argue still news distortion.”
For conservatives, the pattern is clear: the so-called “mainstream media” continues to censor inconvenient truths while protecting its preferred narrative. And with President Trump back in the White House, Americans are more aware than ever of the media’s credibility crisis.
