Leaked Messages Expose Democrat Ripping His ‘No Fun Party’

Leaked private messages from Democratic Arizona Sen. Ruben Gallego have ignited a political firestorm after revealing the senator mocking his own party’s ideological drift and cultural decline. Human Events first obtained the texts, which show Gallego lamenting that Democrats are now “not allowing no men to men” and “women to be hot,” adding bluntly, “We used to be the party of sex, drugs, and rock and roll,” The Daily Caller reported.

Gallego didn’t stop there. “Now Dem women look like Dem men and Dem men look like women,” he wrote, expressing frustration with the party’s increasingly puritanical posture and rigid ideological policing.

A screenshot of the exchange shows the conversation beginning with a Republican acquaintance praising Gallego’s potential, texting, “… I think it’s time that somebody with a cool head and a solid plan could rise to the top of your party.”

Gallego fired back with candor rarely heard from within Democratic ranks: “Oh man have you met my party? I have been yelling at them this the whole time.”

The correspondent replied by sending a photo of Democratic Connecticut Rep. Rosa DeLauro—complete with the in-picture caption, “If erectile dysfunction had a face.”

“They aren’t wrong!” Gallego responded, before continuing his critique: “We look like the not fun party. Always telling and correcting people.”

Pressed about the leak during an interview with ABC15’s Ben Brown, Gallego signaled disappointment but offered no apology for what he said. “It’s very heartbreaking that someone that I served with and have known and been really good friends with for 20 years decided to … leak some of these messages,” he said.

“But I’ve been very clear about where I think the party needs to be, I think we have to be an open and bigger tent party, and so this is just a reflection of everything I’ve said,” he continued.

This isn’t the first time Gallego has taken aim at fellow Democrats. After President Donald Trump won the presidential election last November, Gallego went on CNN’s State of the Union and acknowledged that Democrats had badly misread the economic anxieties of working-class Americans.

“Look, I think really the economy is what resonated with people. And that’s what I heard in Arizona a lot. People were worried about the cost of everything. And I think some of the frustration was that we were spending money, but not necessarily helping people. And that’s also — ” he said, before Jake Tapper interjected.

“Spending money like in Ukraine, you mean?” Tapper asked.

“Yes, exactly,” Gallego said, openly criticizing the party’s spending priorities. He noted that Democrats often blamed Republicans for blocking domestic relief proposals but still failed to address voters’ day-to-day struggles. “The biggest lesson we have to learn here is, when people are hurting economically, they’re going to take care of themselves first.”

Gallego pointed specifically to Latino men, describing their self-reliant mindset: “Latino men believe they can work themselves out of any problem.” He offered a personal example. “Like, I remember growing up, when I didn’t have enough money to travel back home for Christmas, I just went and worked extra hours.”

Tapper then asked, “When you were a Marine?”

“When I was at school,” Gallego corrected. “And so I would — I literally went to a convention center and threw on a costume and handed out leaflets, right? That’s the mentality of Latino men.”

Gallego said this election marked the first time he heard Latino men express deep economic insecurity: “I just don’t feel like I’m doing anything to provide for my family. I don’t feel like I’m bringing them security.”

“Until we actually focus on that and understand that, we’re going to have problems really bringing them back into the Democratic fold,” he concluded.

The leaked texts now add new political baggage for Gallego, underscoring a widening divide inside the Democratic Party—a divide President Donald Trump has repeatedly highlighted as evidence of a party in cultural and economic freefall.
