Left-Wing Agitator Learns Hard Lesson After Attacking MAGA Supporter

Independent journalist Cam Higby found himself the target of a violent left-wing agitator on Friday while relaxing with friends at Washington, D.C.’s Union Station — proudly wearing his MAGA hat.

Video posted online captures the moment when a black male suspect suddenly lunged at Higby, knocking him from his chair. Within seconds, Higby fought back, chasing the man down and spraying him in the face with mace in clear self-defense.

The aggressor, visibly disoriented, staggered across the lawn, clutching his eyes as the effects of the spray took hold.

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether any arrests were made or if police responded to the scene.

Bondi Opens Federal Investigation Into Portland Police After Arrest of Conservative Reporter

In a related development underscoring the ongoing double standard against conservatives, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced a federal investigation into the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) following the arrest of conservative journalist Nick Sortor — a move that could reignite long-running tensions between local authorities and federal oversight.

Sortor, who frequently covers immigration and protest-related issues, was arrested outside Portland’s ICE facility Thursday night and charged with second-degree disorderly conduct after what police described as interference during protests.

According to Sortor, he was assaulted by agitators and had his camera destroyed before being arrested. (KOIN News)

On Friday morning, Sortor announced on social media that Bondi had ordered the Justice Department to investigate. The department later confirmed the inquiry.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed the incident directly:

“This incident is part of a troubling trend in Portland where left-wing mobs believe they get to decide who can visit and live in their city,” Leavitt said. “It is not their city; it is the American people’s city, and President Trump is going to restore that.

The Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, led by Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon, formally notified Portland officials of the investigation Friday, citing concerns of “viewpoint discrimination.” Dhillon referenced both Sortor’s arrest and a brutal assault earlier that week against conservative journalist Katie Daviscourt.

Daviscourt, who was reporting outside the ICE facility Tuesday night, was struck in the face with a flagpole by a female protester — leaving her with a black eye, concussion, and eye hemorrhage. Despite witnesses identifying the suspect to police, no arrest was made, according to The Post Millennial.

Dhillon contrasted that with Sortor’s detention just two days later:

“PPB reportedly arrested individuals who may have been involved in an altercation, choosing to arrest Nick Sortor but not others,” she wrote. “PPB reportedly failed to identify or arrest individuals who allegedly assaulted Katie Daviscourt, even after briefly detaining the individuals.”

Dhillon’s letter also raised broader concerns about Portland’s use of local zoning enforcement to obstruct federal immigration operations, suggesting potential abuse of municipal power against federal agencies.

The Justice Department has ordered Portland officials to provide body camera footage, unredacted reports, and internal communications tied to both incidents by October 10.

Portland Police Chief Bob Day responded Friday, claiming his department remains compliant with federal oversight:

“The actions and steps that we are taking now in the enforcement action around protest activity are actually designed and supported by the partnership of the Department of Justice,” Day said. “I welcome the scrutiny. I am proud of the men and women and the work we’re doing.”

Day denied that political bias plays any role in police decisions, though the mounting evidence — and federal scrutiny — suggest otherwise.
