Leftists Panicking Online as MAGA Turns Their Own Tool Against Them
The assassination of Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, has revealed a disturbing truth: the modern left not only tolerates political violence but in many cases openly cheers it on.
When news broke of Kirk’s murder Wednesday in Utah, left-wing activists and commentators quickly flooded social media — not with sympathy, but with celebratory remarks and smug suggestions that the conservative leader “had it coming.”
Now, many of those same voices are outraged that their words are being held accountable.
A new site, Charlie’s Murderers, registered the very night of Kirk’s killing, has begun cataloging thousands of posts from individuals who either celebrated his death or justified it. The project has already received nearly 20,000 submissions and plans to launch a searchable database, organized by industry and region, allowing Americans to see who in their schools, workplaces, and communities publicly endorsed political assassination.
“Is an employee or a student of yours supporting political violence online?” the website asks bluntly.
Not surprisingly, the legacy media is rushing to defend those caught in their own words. Wired magazine quickly ran cover for the online mob, attempting to portray the project as a far-right campaign of intimidation. The outlet described the site as “posting identifying details about people they view as celebrating or glorifying the murder of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk,” while lamenting that some on the list faced professional consequences.
Their evidence of a “violent extremist” campaign? That conservative commentators like Libs of TikTok’s Chaya Raichik and Trump ally Laura Loomer shared screenshots of celebratory posts. Wired even lumped in Enrique Tarrio — a figure the left loves to cite — as if that proves the entire project is illegitimate.
But the screenshots don’t lie. Among those exposed were public school teachers, college professors, and even first responders. A Pennsylvania teacher sneered that conservatives would “reap what they sow.” A DePaul University professor mocked Kirk as a “throbbing hemorrhoid in the rectum of civil society.” A New Orleans fire employee went further, claiming the bullet that killed him was a “gift from God.”
These are not harmless offhand comments — they are endorsements of violence against a husband, father, and patriot, simply because of his political beliefs.
Yet when exposed, the very same individuals — like journalist Rachel Gilmore, who worried Kirk’s supporters might “retaliate” — suddenly portray themselves as victims. Gilmore told Wired she was “genuinely afraid for my safety,” ignoring the fact that she downplayed assassination and implied conservatives had no right to be outraged.
Threats of violence are wrong, of course. But it is stunning that the left, which has spent years weaponizing doxing to destroy conservatives over far milder offenses, now insists it is unfair to face the same standard when their own words are brought to light.
Let’s be clear: this is not merely hypocrisy — it is the woke mind virus on full display. If George Floyd had been mocked with the same language, these same activists would demand careers be destroyed and lives upended. But when it is Charlie Kirk, the laughter and applause come freely.
Conservatives must recognize the battlefield has changed. For too long, we have played by rules of restraint while the left has doxed, harassed, and smeared without hesitation. That doesn’t mean abandoning moral principles, but it does mean refusing to allow double standards that excuse calls for violence against conservatives.
Until the left dismantles the culture of doxing and cancellation they built, conservatives have every right to hold them to their own rules. When you openly celebrate assassination, don’t be surprised when the world finds out.
