MAGA Firebrand Laura Loomer Exposes Potential Shakeup in Trump DOJ—DeSantis, Paxton Floated as AG Bondi Replacements
The Trump administration may soon see a major shakeup at the Department of Justice, with growing speculation that Attorney General Pam Bondi’s days are numbered—and prominent America First voices are already suggesting her replacement.
On Friday, MAGA influencer Laura Loomer dropped a series of bombshell reports on social media, igniting a political firestorm and drawing quick confirmation from outlets like CNN and Axios.
Loomer revealed that FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino is “now seriously thinking about RESIGNING” due to the controversy surrounding the Epstein Files memo, which concluded there was “no conspiracy” and no existing “client list”—an outcome that has outraged many Trump loyalists.
The backlash has created deep divisions within the administration, and Loomer has been at the forefront, holding Bondi’s feet to the fire. Her nickname for the embattled Attorney General—“Blondi”—has become a rallying cry for those demanding accountability.
“If Blondi is fired,” Loomer posted on X, “I’m told @GovRonDeSantis has been considered/floated for the role of Attorney General by some over the last few months.” That revelation places Florida’s governor, a former Trump rival turned close ally, in the national spotlight once again.
She added that GOP megadonors are also quietly backing Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for the role. Paxton, however, is reportedly focused on challenging establishment Republican Senator John Cornyn in Texas’s 2026 primary.
“Discussions have been taking place for several months about who could be Blondi’s replacement if she ever was fired or resigned,” Loomer said. “She has not done a good job as AG and everyone knows it.”
Loomer has been vocal about Bondi’s failures, accusing her of embarrassing President Trump and dragging down the credibility of his administration.
“A lot of people who work for President Trump are pissed with Blondi. They know she Fkd up,” Loomer wrote bluntly. “She is an embarrassment to Donald Trump and his administration and we need to protect Trump from people who want to DRAG HIM DOWN. Blondi needs to be fired.”
Her reporting gained even more credibility after CNN’s Kaitlan Collins confirmed Bongino’s potential resignation. Loomer took a victory lap, blasting mainstream media for not crediting her as the original source.
“CNN @kaitlancollins is now confirming my exclusive report about how @dbongino is considering RESIGNING from the FBI over his clash with Pam Blondi and the DOJ for her mishandling of the Jeffrey Epstein files and lack of transparency,” Loomer said. “Notice how they don’t even cite my reporting even though I was first.”
CBS News corroborated that Bongino didn’t report to work on Friday, with one source inside the FBI calling his absence a “pressing issue” for the bureau.
Tensions reportedly boiled over during a heated Wednesday meeting at the White House, where Bondi and Bongino clashed over the DOJ’s handling of the Epstein memo. President Trump’s Chief of Staff Susie Wiles was also present, Axios confirmed.
Two CBS News sources said Bongino’s resignation is under serious consideration as he contends with the backlash from the Epstein fallout. Yet, a source familiar with internal discussions maintained that President Trump hasn’t lost confidence in either official—though he is “frustrated” with how the matter has been handled.
White House spokesman Harrison Fields attempted to tamp down the drama.
“Any attempt to sow division within this team is baseless and distracts from the real progress being made in restoring public safety and pursuing justice for all,” Fields stated. “President Trump has assembled a highly qualified and experienced law and order team… This work is being carried out seamlessly and with unity.”
Still, the grassroots MAGA base remains skeptical. The Epstein memo—declaring the convicted pedophile died by suicide and absolving others of accountability—has ignited fresh doubts among supporters who demand full transparency and justice.
Loomer’s growing influence within the America First movement can’t be denied. She was widely credited with influencing President Trump’s decision to remove National Security Advisor Mike Waltz earlier this year and has become a key outside voice on personnel decisions.
Now, with pressure mounting, all eyes are on whether Bondi can survive the storm—or if DeSantis, Paxton, or another conservative warrior will step in to restore integrity to the DOJ.
