'Making It Worse': Dems Fuming at Major Biden Problem They Created Themselves
Democrats are reportedly fuming over former President Joe Biden’s decision to reenter the media spotlight, claiming his tone-deaf commentary is sabotaging their fragile political messaging ahead of the 2026 midterms.
In an interview with The New York Times, Biden attempted to downplay Republican-led investigations into his administration, admitting he personally authorized controversial pardons and clemency decisions—executed via autopen. His bizarre insistence on defending these actions has only fueled further scrutiny, especially after several former aides invoked the Fifth Amendment when questioned under oath.
“If he’s able to go out and be a spokesperson on the issues that matter to him, if he wants to go talk about Medicaid… that makes sense,” a Democratic strategist told The Hill. “But I don’t think you have that conversation on Donald Trump’s terms.”

Instead, Americans were treated to a presidency marked by ice cream runs, lengthy vacations, and rambling speeches in which Biden routinely lost his train of thought mid-sentence. Far from inspiring confidence, these moments became viral clips that highlighted his cognitive decline.
“He is adding nothing. Not a thing. And at this point, he’s making it worse,” another Democratic consultant told The Hill, referring to Biden’s recent media appearances.
A disastrous May interview on The View only reinforced concerns, with Biden mumbling incoherently and bizarrely promising to write a memoir—despite growing calls for him to retire from public life altogether.
Democratic strategist Garry South didn’t hold back either: “It’s not a helpful factor for him to reemerge publicly at this point… There is still a lot of disappointment, if not downright anger, that he decided to run again and left the party in the position of having to switch horses midstream in last year’s election, leading to the second term for Donald Trump.”
According to South, Biden’s “diminished state” makes him wholly ineffective as a voice against President Trump, who is now firmly in command during his second term.
Of course, Democrats only have themselves to blame. It was their own political machinery that dusted off Biden in 2020, propped him up long enough to get past Trump once, then watched helplessly as his administration unraveled under the weight of inflation, border chaos, and foreign policy failures.
Now, Biden has become a liability they’re desperate to hide—yet he keeps talking.
Still, some Democrats are clinging to denial. Obama speechwriter David Litt downplayed the controversy, telling The Hill that “Biden talking to the Times about autopen” isn’t relevant and won’t impact the midterms. He brushed it off as a “niche subject,” insisting Trump’s approval ratings are the real story.

However, if division persists within GOP ranks, Democrats could still slip through the cracks—regaining a chamber and setting the stage for yet another impeachment circus.
