McCarthy Predicts Crockett Could Be Voted Out After Scathing NYP Story
Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) — one of the loudest anti-Trump voices in Congress — is under fire after a damning investigation painted her as a “diva” who mistreats her staff, shirks her duties, and prioritizes TV appearances over her constituents.
The New York Post spoke with multiple current and former congressional aides who described Crockett, 44, as “rude,” “disengaged,” and rarely seen in her Washington, D.C., office unless the cameras were rolling. One former aide alleged, “She is laying around her apartment, won’t come into the office, and is really just indifferent to staff and will scream at them… she freaks out over the most random things.”
Another insider said it is “widely known” that Crockett mistreats personnel, focusing “almost exclusively on being an influencer” rather than doing her job. Staffers claimed she often works from a luxury office building rather than her official office, and even demands chauffeured rides for short distances in expensive rental vehicles — specifically Escalades — with aides instructed to open the door for her.

During an appearance on Fox News, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy told host Jesse Watters that the revelations are a bad sign for the freshman congresswoman, predicting that voters could “escort her out” of office in 2026.
“I don’t want to hear Jasmine Crockett talk about helping black women when she just fired one for no reason,” McCarthy said. “She hasn’t been in Congress very long. They say she does not show up, she lays around her apartment, she cares more about press than representing people and she’s known to yell and lose her mind over small random items. We always in Congress have one or two people like this… she may very well be escorted out of office by voters.”
McCarthy urged voters to pay attention to how lawmakers treat their staff, saying, “That will tell you a lot about how they treat their constituents.”

View PlansAccording to the Post, Crockett’s office has seen unusually high turnover due to what sources described as a “toxic staff environment” that left even Black female aides feeling disempowered. At one point, Crockett reportedly reduced a staffer to tears by snapping, “Do you really want to be here? And if not, you can leave!”
Since entering Congress in 2023, Crockett has made headlines for her fiery, often vulgar attacks on President Donald Trump — calling him a “piece of s***” and “an enemy to the United States.” Her committee tirades frequently go viral on social media, but the Post report raises new questions about whether her political brand is more about self-promotion than public service.
